I’ve been on my property 32 years and I’ve been very slowly harvesting lighter knot off of one stump the whole time. I live in Free America where it rarely gets cold so a hand sized piece will usually last all winter. The stump hasn’t deteriorated any since I’ve been here. It’s just the outer portion of the tree stump that’s left and it’s solid.

I've kinda lived in the woods alot good stuff to know. I got pretty good at starting fiers in the rain with stuff like that 😊
