Pam I love the first and second generation of the Javelin. In college I friend had a basic red coupe with the standard 290 V8. I loved the stying. The second generation had the AMX as a package to the new larger size Javelin. In Alabama the state police used blue AMX cars with black vinyl tops raised white letter tires on 5 spoke aluminum wheels with 401 V8's. No stripped down cars like the CHP used with Mustangs and Camaros! They were looker's and could chase speeders on the AL highways. In the town of Athens in north central AL a 24 hr diner named Jerry's would have a lot of cops, state and local grab a meal. It was cool to see all these cars parked outside! You would have loved it!!!

@@carshowreporter I watch Adam12 every weekday at 5pm on METV. They had Plymouth Satellites in the beginning then the AMC cars. On the internet they do show the Javelins used by the AL State Police.

Dawn Grimshaw design the Marlin 1963 - 1964 Street at 1966 I believe

Don Grimshaw that's his name it's not spelled the other way. His son Paul and his daughter Lori have midnight like a feud with me ever since my mother passed away. I'll have to explain it to you on our personal site but Paul doesn't want to talk to me because of something and it's so stupid is funny. He doesn't even know that I own a Cadillac

Nice video Pam I enjoyed that. I'm not an AMC nut but I have a lot of memories with AMC Motors

A guy by the name of Don Grimshaw was one of the designers of the 1967 to 1970 AMX / javelin SST automobiles that American Motors made between 1967 and 1972. Don Grimshaw is my cousin Paul Grimshaw his father and he was on the designing team with American Motors Corporation from the late forties through the late 80s I believe. From what I understand and I could be wrong but I tried to get this from my cousin but my cousin seems to want to not talk to me for some stupid reason but Dawn Grimshaw design and build the 343 Javelin AMX series muscle cars from 1967 she's 1972. I don't know much about him because his son doesn't seem to want to talk to me which is so stupid isn't funny.

Please check your history info better, AMC, bought it's self back from renual way before Chrysler got involved

au contrare monamie , Renault owned 46% of AMC when they sold to Chrysler. AMC never regained their independents. www.american-motors.de/en/history/80s/
Thanks for challenging the information. It keeps us honest!
