This looks awesome, ignore everyone else. Also, don't know why would you would need planning permission for this, its just a wooden structure and makes the pool look nice. I would differently do something like this. Awesome build 👌👍

Unfortunately we don’t know the true cost of it because we recycled a lot of the wood but it took a good few weeks to complete it as we did it as and when we had spare time

Hi, we do leave it up in the winter. We usually open it around May unless it’s warmer before then, we shock it and hoover it out and then it’s good to go. We have slight access to the left side of the pool where the pump is but that’s it 😊

We use a sand filter so don’t have any experience with a salt system, sorry I wish we could help more! I would definitely recommend getting a skimmer and heating system for that size pool, we only have a geobubble cover which heats our pool to around 26° during the British summertime, last year during the heatwave it reached 31°

Where exactly do you live California? It has to be a strict liberal state if they make you ask permission to build a higher level deck.

We have older children who can just jump onto the side or we can use the steps that came with the pool and just put them in
