I recently learned how to make Korean fried chicken without using a fryer and saved a bunch of oil. I just coat the chicken with rice powder and corn starch. Put chicken on an oiled foil tray and coat the chickens with oil spray and cook them in the oven. My question is, I wonder if I can get my chimichangaz the same way. Coat them in oil and just pop them into the oven to fry them with less mess and waste.
I just made these for my wife and myself. But used leftover rotisserie chicken, re fried beans and some spices, cheese and salsa. My wife was duly impressed with this newbe to cooking (only 82 yrs old, so never too late to learn) They turned out great! Thank you for some great tips and recipes.
I hope your children and husband appreciate how you make good food from scratch, always going the extra mile to make your own tortillas and sauces. I really enjoyed watching you fold/wrap/stuff the chimichangas and the music that was playing. Thank you for the recipe!
I've grown up making these with my mama. Only thing I'd recommend for anyone who has problems with them not holding. If you fill your tortilla closer to one side, you get a much tighter roll. 👍
Also when you goto roll them if you pinch either side then fold the top over and then pinch all of the edges into the roll as you go steadily tightening as you go. Basically opposite of how she rolled hers. Pinch your edges in first then the tops and bottoms kind of like a joint
The same night I made the enchiladas, I made this for my wifes lunch for the next day. She is the manager there, and her co-workers asked if I would make some for them as well.!! ;) So easy to make, and puts a smile on everyones face. Yes, I made more for her coworkers, they are quite envious of her now.
A bit of tips. For a good sealing on the wrapper, use a corn starch diluted with water, then brush it a little on the edge of the wrapping on the final fold. It will make sure the wrap more secure and won''t unravel when you fried it.
When I was a kid, my Mom used to make fresh tortillas almost every night. Then, they started making those tortillas in a bag from the store and fresh tortillas were over at our house. Damn those store bought tortillas!
I tried these tonight, my wife and I loved them. I used the store bought tortillas and they didn't look as good as yours. Love your presentation style, so easy to listen to and follow.

Like others here, I made these last night using rotisserie chicken. I didn't have any colby, but did have shredded taco mix cheese. Everything else was just as like your recipe. They came out awesome! Best chimichangas I've ever eaten, and I've eaten a lot of them. I used to dread getting a whole rotisserie because invariably I through away most of the chicken. No mas, I"ll be the chimichanga king of Modesto! Can't wait for bible study this coming Monday night... going to bring them to the group. Love all your videos; lucky family to have such a great cook!

These look really good! I make something similar. I use egg roll wrappers and use a mixture of ground sausage, sauteed mushrooms, finely chopped ginger, and shredded mozzarella. I cook/melt the mixture before wrapping and frying. I call them italian egg rolls. Wonderful to dip in sweet and sour or bbq sauce.
I made some this morning with leftover ham stir fried with a little garlic, onion , minced green olives and a little parmesan Romano the colby jack cheese and some scrambled eggs . Topped with sour cream and salsa. They were outstanding!

we love chimichangas here. There is one that sells here 39 pesos per piece.. thanks for sharing, now i learned how to cook it. I will try this..my grandchildren love thos too.
When making larger tortillas, pass them from hand to hand with a slapping motion, turning about a 1/4 turn with every exchange. They will come out round and you are able to get them round and a lot bigger than when using a rolling pin. Much quicker, too.
I love that you use stainless steel to fry! I do too but I’m from New Mexico and my Mother and Grandmother think I’m committing a sin by not using Cast iron! These look so good I think I’m gonna make them this weekend.
I hate when people say that you cook with dirty hand's !! How do they know what you do off camera !! plus you are making the food for your family and as long as you're family is happy I believe that you do wash your hands because of some of the things you make.!!! I believe that you are a great cook and explain everything so people who watch understand everything so please don't stop and don't let them get to you !! Love from Arizona 🌵🏜️
Thank you Gochujang Moma. I made these chimichanga's & they were simply delicious.. I only changed my meat for asada & added my cheese. I didn't add any side dish & glad I didn't because the chimichanga alone was filling & satisfying.. You made this recipe a hit in my home.. Looking for more of your great recipes (& have tried a few that was also so good) so keep my bell ringing when you continue to share.. Thank you. 😊 Cali Girl

I cool the chicken in the broth before I shred ,it’s so juicy . It’s how I make chicken enchiladas ❤️
I keep 3 teenagers fed... These are part of my catalog of meal plans.
Thanks a lot for this.
Excellent. The homemade tortillas are a really nice touch.
I just made these tonight and the family loved them!! Thank you for the recipe😘

Aglore Bolgado now at 24 pesos for a dollar $1.61 per each
I absolutely love the fact that you talk with absolutely no accent until you say tortilla. I think you’re Fabulous!!! This looks NOM NOM NOM!!
Exactly What I Was Looking For... You're Never Short Of A Much Needed Recipe 😁 Gracias...Otra Vez !!!!🥘🥙💯!!!!
I made these tonight, with homemade Beans, Pico, and rice, big hit with my whole family!! Thank you so much🙌💕💖💕
It amazes me how the world culture is so similar 😊❤❤🌎🌏🌍❤❤❤
Love how simple your recipe is and that you demonstrated how to make homemade tortillas. Gonna try this 🙂
When making larger tortillas, pass them from hand to hand with a slapping motion, turning about a 1/4 turn with every exchange. They will come out round and you are able to get them round and a lot bigger than when using a rolling pin. Much quicker, too.
You should make a video on how to.. please
I love that you use stainless steel to fry! I do too but I’m from New Mexico and my Mother and Grandmother think I’m committing a sin by not using Cast iron! These look so good I think I’m gonna make them this weekend.
Yummmmm. Those look so delicious. I will be making them during my Quarantine ❤
I like to say chimichanga instead of a bad word. Thanks for the yummy video!!! 🐱
🤣🤣🤣🤣my sis uses tooty fruity
I have just made these, I did use rotisserie chicken and store bought tortillas, kept the spices the same. Sooooo delicious!
I use toothpicks to seal them while frying. They slide out easily when you're done frying. 🙂🙂🙂
That's a good idea!
My mom does this with flautas! Super easy trick✅
aylin zavala man, I love flautas!
I love both lol
I love your recipes but best of all how you explain the process 👍 thanks & have a wonderful day
Oooo love that you make homemade flour tortillas too, they look amazing and easy to make 😊 The chimichangas look bomb!!!! 😍
Yuo are cut
Thank you Gochujang Moma. I made these chimichanga's & they were simply delicious.. I only changed my meat for asada & added my cheese. I didn't add any side dish & glad I didn't because the chimichanga alone was filling & satisfying.. You made this recipe a hit in my home.. Looking for more of your great recipes (& have tried a few that was also so good) so keep my bell ringing when you continue to share.. Thank you. 😊 Cali Girl
Ooooohhhh beef, potato and cheese, dipped in queso!!! Soooooooooo good!!!!
I love how you don't cut the scenes when cooking. It's awesome I have something to compare it to.
Thank you for making a video that’s actually about the recipe and not everything else but. Loved it! And they look delicious!!
Love the video, not so impressed with you making me hungry though.
Gonna give this a crack over here in Western Australia mate.
Cheers for the video.
Mike Perth omg hi!!
"Not so impressed with you making me hungry" - spoken like a true entitled millennial. Checks Mike's channel, yep, you're a coolaid drinking libtard.
@@luckyvet chill out mate! The fellow was just being cheeky.....you obviously have no sense of humour or friendliness, like a true bitter, old geezer with a stick up his patoody! I say good day.
@@luckyvet Maybe you need a massage....
@@hahna77 I'm so tired. I read that as "biter" instead of "bitter." Talk about getting old. Lol
I wonder how many people are learning too cook due to the quarantine. I certainly have learn some new ways too cook and kinda like it.
Mouth watering! I'm glad I watched this before trying my first batch!
Great job, I have been wanting to try these, chimichangas are my favorite when I eat out. Thank you 🙏🏻
Outstanding! Subscribed! I like to drizzle ridiculously spicy salsa over these.

I love how she only has an accent when saying tortilla.
So freaking annoying...
It's not an accent, it's the way it's pronounced. People that don't speak Spanish butcher the word 😒
@@cristyynal.8456 fucking true
it's the same with japanese words, say naruto, yakuza, and yokai right ffs
We are like that cause we grew up with Spanish parents and went to regular school. I didn’t know how to say clothes hanger in English I didn’t know the term or clothes pin I only knew the Spanish term all my family is from Texas but Tex max lol.
Huezzy:she's cute.And a good cook.Lucky husband.
I watched my mother in law make these and she’d skip cooking the tortillas first and just stuff them and deep fry them, she says the burrito stays together better that way
Hello how are you doing just wanna say this video made me really happy because it's rly like a special kind of sambooseh in iran Pakistan and india
