I am still using my 3+ she's never let me down and even got run over by a Deere during maize a couple of years ago and escaped with just a cracked case amazing realy. not running anything 4K myself but i can clearly see even watching in 1080p the quality difference in this test video. sound investment hope you have may years of enjoyment out of it.
Hero 6 is supposedly due to be launched on 26Sep17. If you’d waited there might have been a fair discount on the 5 even if you didn’t go for the new one!!! 😆
Have you had any issues with your Hero 5 Black so far? I've been using 3 sjcam4000's for like 3 years now mounted on a Samson MK-10 boom mic using their frame mount + a 1/4 male to female thread - And they still work fine (though I don't know if one is a fake or not, but it still works lol) BUT, one of my cameras gave out on me the other day.. I've narrowed it down to: GoPro Hero 5 Black refurbished = $220 each ($170 after $50 trade in for my sjcam4000) Yi-4K (not 4K+) = $150 from their website...but no trade in offered. These will be for RUclips drum videos, SO... 1. I don't really need stabilization (unless it will help with #6) 2. I don't really need 4k either actually.. 3. I'll be shooting in 1080p 30fps, MAYBE 60fps (if I feel like it would look cool) 4. The cameras will be on a Samson MK-10 boom stand using their frame mounts + GoPro Tripod adaptor. 5. I don't need the audio to be great (I get my audio edited) 6. I've noticed my bass drum does cause the video to shake with my Canon G7X (1st one, not mark 2), but that could just be because it's heavy while sitting on my boom stand. 7. BUT they will be in low light. I use 2 neewer 176 LED lights, black background, no other lights on. Thoughts? 🤔🤔 Thanks in advance! 😊
Silverlit Studios I know that but I font think i would want to spend another £50 on it. I am sticking to my Hero 4 black and I still have a brand new one in the box for when this one packs up. I think gopro has gone very cheap with its products as I found that the hero 5 is very flimsy with its hatches and in places just feels cheap. I quite like the look of the garmin virb camera but I am not sure what I would get. I could probably get tge case for free if I wanted to get a deal but i will see what the hero 6 is like as that is due to be released in the next couple of months

For some reason recording both cameras at 1080 the hero 3 looks better than the hero 5. Curious why that is.

3+ silver was always a crap camera. If you'd had a black you wouldnt see much difference at all.
