Never knew Capcom made a football game back then. Looks great and I’ve always loved Capcom games.

Capcom didn't make this game, only published it and slapped their name on top
They did the same with Capcom Soccer Shootout, which had nothing to do with Capcom in japan

Madden derivative that I found to be a better play than Madden 93 on the Super Nintendo. Same goes for Sterling Sharpe End to End Football.

Why don't you like it? It seems to run more smoothly than the Madden games did on SNES. In fact it looks like they saw an opening to do a Madden clone for the SNES after seeing EA's own versions run so poorly. All that being said, I tried one time playing this on an emulator, and I couldn't get into it, but that's how I feel about all SNES football games not named TECMO.

Control for one thing. I never felt like I could make the player I was in control of do what I wanted. As for how smooth it looks that is true for early Madden on SNES, by 95 onward they had hit full stride and play just fine. John Madden Football, 93 and to a lesser extent 94 have some real frame rate issues but 95,96, and 97 especially run just fine. I also have a personal fondness for color commentary. Something this game is extremely lacking, but many of the era did. Short quips from Madden and Summerall or Al Michaels in the Brett Hull hockey games go a long way for me. The music is pretty uninspired too and I grade these games on a total package scale.
So in short: gamefeel doesn't play right to me, audio is subpar, just generally didn't enjoy it that much.
Hope that clears things up! At the end of the day this channel is for archival purposes so if it looks interesting to you then by all means give it a shot! You may very well find things you enjoy that I didnt!

@@sports_fix That sounds about right! I went with Madden 96 for my minimalist SNES collection as my one overhead view football game. I chose 96 because (1) there's a lot from John and Pat; sometimes I put on 90s football games in the background just for the pleasant ambience of their commentary, (2) it still had the FOX theme music and logo which takes me back to my earliest and fondest memories as a football fan. I don't currently have a console to play my SNES games on; hoping to buy a Super Nt soon.

Perhaps you guys should have been playing saga genesis instead.
If you think this game is better than John madden, you are f***** in the head LOL
I know we hate electronic arts now but give your head a shake.
The sound is not as good. The running animations are terrible. And the music is laughable.
I never knew these games even existed.
I guess if you were poor and you need buy games from the discount bin.

Saga Genesis? Never heard of it.
Who are you to tell people what they should play?
