I really like watching how you transform a piece of wood into your creation. Another great job 👍👍👍 thanks as always for your time to share it. Looking forward to the next.
Hi, 👋, Interesting piece of Art, that was given your lathe the run around, and you as well, 😂, I got back on my lathe yesterday but I fell off of it, 😂😂, the piece of wood started to come apart, too many cracks and no ÇA glue, I think that your Bowl 🍲 looks good, I look 👀 forward to seeing your next project, Art . Phil from the moulin France
I always love how you work the wood Doug. It is always turning out different as I think it will become. When you said not to use resin, I thought it would becom a flat plate but not something like this. I am glad that you seem to have exactly what it should be in your head because it turned out far more beautiful as I expected. Very well done my friend. Thank you for sharing an have a wonderful work week. 👍👍👍
A little bit of rusticity is a part of the charm of some pieces. Imperfection _can_ be what makes a the difference between an ornament and something to live with.
Really interesting piece Doug; the spalting in the wood really adds interest. You could have also titled this, "The Adventures of Doug and the Dancing Lathe" 😄
Doug you got lucky with the Spalting and the flames In that log. It may be rustic but it's beautiful that's just so pretty and un-intrusive it would look really good on a long wooden table as a centre piece.😘😘💋💋 sending love & hugs.
Well it won’t hold soup 😂 I absolutely love the grain in this piece. I was surprised you didn’t fill the space with resin, then you said it at the end, that you would with the next piece. Missed you talking during the video. Have a great weekend or what’s left of it 👍😎
I never hesitate coming to your channel because I know whatever you do it will be spectacular and well worth my time! ❤ Edit posted at end of video: And I was right!
I love that mixing so much! That hole looks neat when it's spinning around. Oh I really love that shot where you take on the side, or behind, wow that is so cool! that's a bit frustrating with the X tool. I think it turned out great but it's missing a piece lol Thanks for sharing, Doug, liked all your up close shots.
doug when you gonna bolt her to the floor cause one day she gonna walk out the door lol loving your creations and your commitment to this channel. bless ya!
I like that Doug it is beautiful and don't really see anything rough and rustic We'' maybe rustic LOL and a great job turning it!!! I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
Love watching you turn something so mundane into something beautiful. Could you please tell me if you sell what you make and where can it be bought from?
That cutout from the wood shape is kind of cool. Almost would be fun to create a little bowl that fits in the hole and you could almost use this one as a chip holder with the smaller bowl for the dip.
That is a gorgeous piece of wood! I like the rough shape. If you ever feel like trying it, I wonder how drilling holes along the sides of the gap and lacing it like a shoe with red string would look?
This was pretty interesting. On the lathe it looked like a strobe light lol. Can you put a 55 gallon drum full water or concrete blocks behind you lathe so it will quit walking away from you? I wouldn't know if you can or not, I 'm not a wood worker lol.
Not too shabby sir, You gotta' love turning air :) I don't think the dark resin stain is so bad, I might have considered painting the whole outside of the bowl with resin to make it even though, still, that flame and spalting are gorgeous! At first, I thought it was maple looking at those nubs on the outside, and I was thinking you were a just a glutton for punishment for turning a hard maple crotch! Another fantastic piece. Keep up the good work.
I don't know how you feel about such jokes, but if you put this dish with a cutout on your shoulders, you will get a halo. A beautiful bowl. GooD)))))))
Forgive me if this is a stupid question: how are you able to use a tool on a piece of wood that has a large chunk missing? I enjoyed watching & as always, your work is amazing!
The illusion of your gouge floating through the air is so cool! That is a really beautiful piece, Doug!
Thank you very much Jane!

Thank you Leigh, that's an Idea
Might wanna take a cruise through the Grand Ledge area after that big storm wood is lining the streets here
Thank you Isaiah, Potterville was hit pretty hard too, we didn't get much out here in Olivet
That is very pretty!! It reminds me of an OLD tractor seat minus the spring in the back to hook it to the tractor. (Am I aging myself?) 😂 😂
Thank You Pixie, there has been a few tractor seat comments now
What amazing graining!!!! And...tearout...yeah, that happens. But isn't that what resin is for??
Thank You Michael, I couldn't imagine trying to fill it all with resin,
Nice piece Doug, personally i like resins....
But it is unique.
I do too, Thank You Gary
Abstract piece, yet beautiful Nontheless! I especially enjoyed the translucent effect created by the piece as you turned it! 😉❤
Thank you so much George 😊

lol we had it as Pac Man last night in a live
@@PohlBarnProductions I played in the mid-80s on a PC in a kind of Soviet similarity of this game. It was black and white and more abstract.
Looks great ❤. Have you considered bolting down the beast 🤪
