Its good to know the origin of the festival...how and for whom this festival of harvest was directed to in the past!! and Yes if there is anything questionable, or not in line with Gods word, it's better for believers not to participate in it.

It is kind of inciting fear and doubts if you keep preaching on tracing the roots of the past generations.. Jesus Christ has already paved us a way to get cleansed and be saved by shedding his blood, so why emphasise more on problems when we already have a solution? No matter how big the curse is, Cross of Calvary is the solution to get rid off. So, i feel like the preaching should be focusing on bringing people before the cross rather than bygone rituals done by ancestors. Lastly, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away and new things have come.
