He said about the face id fail on his 40 facts about iPhone X and the geek bench score is way off the charts. S8 is at 6k and apple 8 is at 10k. That won't matter during daily use but that's a huge difference. The only thing you should consider is that spec bump and 60fps 4k recording for apple, the rest are offered by Samsung in a better way. USB c, better display, fast wireless charging and cheaper. Face id will also be hard to use you have to point the phone to your face every time. It won't be as convenient as touch id. You'd rather be using the number lock in a few days. I'd rather buy a Samsung s8 than apple x coz it's nearly 50% cheap and I'm not loosing much.
I've just brought the 128gb iPhone 7plus in matte black over the iPhone 8plus for the following reasons:
1. I can't see how a few minor features (Portrait mode & True tone) cost $678 more when the major one's like screen Display, Camera and Design are virtually identical.
2. You are not going to notice the A10-11 both are fast.
3. I don't own or intend on buying a Qi charger plus I already own a 'fast charger'.
4. Storage of the iPhone8plus jumps from 64gb(way too little) to 256(too much) and there is no 128gb (perfect)
5. Aesthetically I prefer the wider colour options of the iphone7plus.
NO hate for iPhone 8 or people who want to buy it! I just cannot justify the price for a few added features I'll never use or notice.

Moi Where I'm from it's $600 dollars more for the 8 and apart from the processor it's so not worth it and I actually rather the 7. But if your not intending on upgrading for the next 4-5 or so years and are coming from a iPhone 6 or below then I agree A11 is a great choice if you need a new phone right now. Personally I wait for the big upgrades when switching phones which is generally every 2 years. So next year if apple don't fuck it up I will be purchasing the 2018 iphone

I've been using it for a year now and it has been a great phone, and it only cost me $400 or so. It has all of the features the X has, and it's cheaper than the 6s right now. (And that's on sale.) So.. being a minimum wage earning graduate, the S8 saved me so much work, but if you're one of those kids who can be gifted an iPhone, go for it. It's faster and just feels more... premium. Your choice my friend.

I want to get the iPhone 8 from my iPhone 6s+ but there's no headphone jack, I know everyone is anti-wires but I lose things too much, I lose headphones with wires as it is. Imagine me with a pair of EarPods. I'd miss listening to music and charging my phone too much to switch.

I am still using my iPhone 7 Plus...no need to upgrade for 8 or 8 Plus. Mine is still fast and smooth since I bought. So I'm keep it as long as it stops upgrade to future iOS and/or until it's getting slow and laggy

What really irks me about the iPhone 8 is Apple's unwillingness to change the design. The shape of the 8 is indistinguishable from the 6, and there is a 3 year gap between those phones. Yes, the iPhone X exists and offers a superior design, but no one should have to buy an over the top flagship just to get a new look. The iPhone 8 is, for all intensive purposes, the representative phone of apple, where the iPhone X is an unnecessarily luxurious model meant for demonstrating technological competency. It is not the device aimed at the average consumer. So this leaves the majority purchasing a phone that, while high in quality, is low in change. Apple has been improving their devices rather cautiously, and they has not added many technologies that cause the industry to pause and marvel. Instead, they've been tweaking a formula that has already worked for the past few years. This makes iPhone upgrades safe, but certainly not as exciting as they once were. As someone who owns the iPhone 6s, I look at the iPhone 8 and think to myself, "what am I going to enjoy on this device that I don't on my own phone?" There are several, but at the end of the day, I'm going to open the same apps, do the same tasks, and receive more or less the same experience (save for a few blatant exceptions, such as the speakers), which isn't poor per se, but is begging for something more thrilling.
The problem, in a nutshell, is that Apple is improving an already existing experience. That strategy is fine for laptops and desktops, which are upgraded at a much lower frequency, but it is unacceptable for smartphones. What they need to be doing is offering a new experience. The iPhone X certainly is that, but I find it frustrating that anyone who wants a "fun" upgrade must enter a niche market. If the iPhone 8 had more to separate itself from the previous generations of devices (that is, offering a different type of experience), I would not feel obligated to purchase the X model, but given the available options, I am pushed into a market I otherwise should not be in. That, I think, is the greatest flaw in the iPhone lineup today.

Don't get the X. The housing of the camera at the top of the screen will cut into any video you're watching. You'll never be able to see that part of the video. They could've added some black out bands in those cut outs to both sides of the camera/speaker housing... but they didn't. I don't want 7% of my content whether it be a movie, TV show, or even just a RUclips Video taken away at all time.
I have the 6s now and I have a free upgrade to get either phone but I'm gonna get the 8+ tbh the IPhone X is rly ugly and face recognition is too slow. I'm rly happy with the home button, and not to mention the amount of video cropping with that bar at the top!

I had the iPhone 7+ (Red), but unfortunately, I dropped it last week and the screen completely SHATTERED. It no longer works, so I upgraded the same day to the 8+, and it’s basically the same. Just a better camera quality, and a louder speaker. I don’t think I’ll be upgrading anytime soon.
