Great lesson, Randy. I worked on playing pattern one in three keys without paper this morning, and that alone was a challenge at 60bpm. There are months of work to be done in just this lesson alone, and I am confident we will be better players if we do it. Along with the playing from memory part, there is a fair amount of theory required. My advice to myself is to stop spreading myself around and work on this lesson and only the hard parts of some tunes, like the eighth note run in Take the A train that gives me so much trouble.
