There is no clear definition of "Ekiben", but it generally refers to "Bentō sold at stations and on trains" in the broad sense and "Bentō made by manufacturers who are members of Chūōkai, an organization of Ekiben vendors" in the narrow sense. Bentō sold at convenience stores in train stations are not included in Ekiben. Ekiben from Chūōkai are printed with the "駅弁🔴EKIBEN" mark (03:11 the square mark in the upper left corner of the box). All three Bentō in this video are definitely "Ekiben" because they all have this mark printed on them.
If you are willing to offer an opinion, i wpuld ask for advice on my game plan, 3alry train (630-700 or so) from tokyo station to kyoto. Plan to have 1 per person unique choice bento, and several one per or to share between 2 people Pork cutlet sando (shared) 2 dessert sando from the same shop 2 tokyo station bento (for the history and variety) 1 gyu-niku ji wagyu to share 1 beef domannaka to share 2 kiyoken shumai My perosnal betno being a beef one woth a man "he trusts" recommended by a video that said it was amazing Kinda beef heavy but has some of almost every (non fish) thing Thoughts?
