I am a veteran of the Bongo Island public server from 8 years ago. This is epic seeing Bongo Island return and hopefully this goes as well or better than it did the first time.

I experienced my first taste of gaming on bongo island back then. I was around 10 or 11 and someone told me they would invite me to their tribe if I unclaimed all my Dino’s. I love unclaimed all the Dino’s then they bit my head off. Will never forget it.
Same! I joined when I was 13, I talked to squid, I joined about after a week of the servers release, the last thing I remember about it, I was rocket launching a metal wall with squid and ash and like a million other players 😂

Squid, the first island you went to only spawns herbivores. The second one with the metal billboard only spawns predators (and in excessive amounts!). If u want a bongo island, the one u placed the crate on is the best!!!
Hey Squid! Easy mode settings are considered to be a little too easy, but if you want to keep them feel free too. I recommend turning all the settings back to default and raising certain settings. There are many videos you can find to explain each setting, however, everyone has there own preferences so make sure their YOUR settings and not anyone elses. Normally, you raise the taming speed, resource collection and don't touch any damage multipliers. One very challenging setting to change are the breeding settings (mating cooldown, Baby mature speed, cuddle grace and can all be found in the advanced settings tab), and where most of the variation from player to player occures, so do some experimenting as these settings are very important in the later game if you wish to beat the game. One thing to note is wether or not you had the setting 'single player settings' on or off as this changes nearly all the settings, my guess is it is already turned on and it is probably good to keep on. I would reccomend watching a few videos on best singleplayer settings and choose some settings you enjoy or mix and match some. Also make sure to check the box named 'max difficulty' for level 150 dinosaurs to spawn naturally. Before changing anything go through all settings and set them to the default, which might be a bit challenging as some settings default to something other than simply just '1'. Bye!!!!

Ark tip, Since your in easy mode it might be worthwhile to get yourself a scorpion, the poison is great for knocking things out and you can ride them! Personally I think that they are great for the easy difficulty. They might struggle against bigger creatures and flyers, but taming a army you can knock things out really fast. 3-5 (Probably should be around lvls 30-40) for this difficulty can knock Rexs and Brontos out pretty fast.
Edit: They aren't too bad in caves as well and can act as a meat shield for your main ride. i.e your saber etc
at 49:59 you faced a Rhyniognatha (ry-neo-na-tha) , an extremely rare and strong creature that has the ability to pick up most, if not all dinos

As someone who loves Ark the atmosphere and look are so amazing! If Squid ever needs a new base he should return to the southern point of the island and then go west along the shoreline until he reaches a river. If he crosses that river there should be a short mountain that spawns metal and crystal, there is also a great flat cliff to build a large base. The only thing to worry about is the raptors, alpha raptors possibly spawning, sarcosuchus, piranha, and anything from the swamp coming down the river. It's a great location for a base and I use it all the time when playing on the island.
Also, a tip for broken tools, instead of opening your inventory to see what you need to repair the tool you can just hold down what ever slot the broken item is in and then the game will show you what's needed to repair the tool. Also if you have the materials to fix the tool and don't need a special thing like the workbench you can just select the slot the broken tool is in and you'll automatically start fixing the broken tool.
It's also hilarious that squid saw herbivore island then decided to settle on carnivore island. Then again there is an artifact nearby so I guess the location helps.
Squiddy make sure you get all your survival notes, as well as kill alphas ON your tames, as they also get the xp. That would’ve been especially clutch on the pteranodon to level up the weight and stam. Also for small tames like raptors, sabers, parasaurs, pteranodons, and many others, use bolas to hold them still whilst you knock them out. For bigger tames like big carnivores, and especially argies, there are traps you can build to make the whole process easier.

If you want higher level dinos (better stats and content), you have to raise the difficulty.
I havent played ASA yet but in ASE it was just the difficulty slider which maxed out with max level 150 but could be further raised in the files.
Then you just have to wait for the new batch of dinos.
Also the baby dinos in ASA can just be claimed after killing or taming the parents.

Hey squid! SO aha! That big island beside Bongo island is carnivore island! There is a cave and artifact on that big island! Good luck because carnivores also spawn around the island in the water! And if you happen to kill a dinosaur and it has a baby you can claim that baby as your own!!! This means you can imprint it and its stats including movement speed are increased!!!!! That giant tuna fish only attacks rafts so if you happen to run into one again! Fear not! As long as you are swimming and not on a raft because otherwise they are peaceful! (Unless attacked). The imprinting of baby dinos shouldn’t be overlooked! It is pretty amazing! And no need to tranq the babies you can passive tame/claim them once you kill the parents 😅 Finally! Explore notes (the little boxes you’ve found) can be collected while you are riding your dinos! (Just walk over the box while riding them) This means they gain loads of levels too! It is great for flyer’s stamina/weight. Also levelling up your fortitude means weather both cold/hot does not affect you so much! So the heat/cold won’t kill you. Good luck! And you are doing great! 😊 Love the longer videos.. even watching you harvest trees is entertaining!!

a couple tips:
for taming its kibbe>mutton>raw prime>raw meat > fish meat > all cooked meat
if you kill/tranq a babies parents you can claim them
ugly dave is a pego(one of the things that steal your stuff) and was tamed bc it stole some berries from your inventory
the dragonfly thing is a Rhyniognatha, a very lategame tame that shares spawns with gigas. It is also the most recent added dino

As someone who grew up watching the original and was inspired by you to get into ark, here some feedback and advice to help you out.
Firstly. Wild baby Dino's can be insta tamed by killing their parent, which can be very useful if you find a high level rex with a child.
Secondly. The leech you saw in the ocean is a passive creature which only destroys your rafts, honestly avoid rafts and stick to flying with argi or PT.
The reason you killed the alpha raptor quite easily was because you had a tier 3 longneck, these come with a random % damage increase, so it's possible it could do 2-3x more damage, that and alpha raptors are the pushover raptor's.
Some advice I'll also give you is the essential tools.
Pickaxe, hatchet, longneck, shotgun, pike.
And my final piece of advice is tame a Theriz. It will make gathering so much easier for you

Squidy, if you raise the difficulty higher level dinos will spawn. You can also press q when youve drawn and arrow with your bow to put it away and not waste an arrow. Glad your back to playing ark!

Hey squid your 2015 bongo island series really got me into ark glad to see it back and on this map there are 3 different bosses but at different difficulty levels at each one the green one is the brood mother blue one it’s a giant monkey which is called megapithecus and the red one is a dragon
