- Fishing the St Clair River, in Ontario Canada. I was fishing for Musky and Northern Pike. This video became a catch and cook after the fish was deeply hooked and did not survive.
Northern Pike Recipe -
Ingredients;
2 eggs, beaten
1 1⁄2 cups crushed saltine crackers (about 45 crackers)
2 lbs Northern Pike fillets
vegetable oil (for frying)
Directions;
Place beaten eggs and saltine cracker crumbs in separate shallow bowls or pie tins.
Dip fillets into eggs, then coat with crumbs; let stand for 5 minutes.
In a heavy, deep skillet, or electric frying pan, heat oil (about 3/4 to 1 inch of oil) to 375°. Fry fillets, a few at a time, for 2 minutes on each side or until fish is golden brown and flakes easily (I found that when the fish is golden brown it's DONE).
Drain on a rack over paper towels. If you're making lots of fish place the rack in a 225° oven while you're cooking the remaining batches.

This on the sarnia side? Jusy moved here wondering where it is
Amazing video, very good pace. Not many fishing you tubers achieve the same affect. Very well constructed video overall. Keep it up.
Thanks Joe, I have almost given up the RUclips gig a number of times, comments like that keep me going. Really appreciate the support.
Nice one mark ,enjoy that one
Thanks Brett.
You have an awesome channel! Great Video! Makes me want to hit the lake!
Brendan Miranda, thanks! I just watched your video on the Helios lens, loved it, one of the best videos about that lens.
What part of sarnia is this where you caught this?
I’m hungry now 🤣
Good stuff 👍🏼👍🏼
Murray Crabb Fishing, thanks bud.
Great video. I usually fish the wall in Port Huron but don't come across too many pike doing so. I'll have to work my way down the river and see if I can find some quiet inlets. That spot you were fishing on the queen's side of the river looked great.
brasshnkey, I visit family in the area, once a year, and fish it every morning for one week straight. I wouldn’t say it’s a crazy productive area, but I gear pike, bass, and tiger musky. It’s a lovely area to fish, and I often talk to people going for their morning walks, and they will tell me they never see anyone fish these areas. I just drive the road next to the river, and stop in the likely looking areas, fish for a bit, then drive to the next fishy looking spot. Lots of good parks and public access to the river bank too.
@@marxfishing Next time you're around I'd be more than happy to fish with you. I fish pike often and have a wide variety of tackle. My favorite spots are those shallow bays and canals by Harsens Island, they produce nice fish much of the year. Muscamoot Bay is great, and the smallmouth action is crazy good during May into early June.
That would be great. If you’re on Facebook, look up Marx Fishing on there, then we can direct message. I will be back over in the US in June. I live in Australia.
Great Pike!! Some tasty Filletts 4 Dinna...Got your Kids hook'd on Fishin'!!
They love it Wes, my Daughter is on the one that made me buy the boat. When she was 5 years old, she would watch fishing shows instead of cartoons every morning, then give me all the tips she got from the show.
U sound like Jon b
Hey Marc nice video, got a couple of questions. What's the difference between a Pike and a Musky? and how long was that Pike?
Musky get much bigger, they have a different pattern on the body. The Pike and Musky are so closely related that that can, and do, cross breed at times, which produces what is called a "Tiger Musky" The Pike was 30 inches, about 75 cm.
oh yeah thanks. It's pretty light there for 5:30 haha
Great story great video all you were missing to make the perfect video was a pint and a Jameson while you were cooking. LOL
LOL! Yes, thats would have finished it nicely. Thanks for watching.
Hey Mark. I have decided to restart an old channel and start putting a few fishing video's on there. So you will see me commenting from here. I will keep the lawn care one just for that.
Cliff's Fishing and Hobbies, good idea! I’m subed on your fishing channel now.

Are you originally from canada? I've seen your videos from Melbourne, were you visiting at the time? I love your videos regardless
I'm from the US, near the Canada border. Im back here on holiday, I return to Melbourne just in time for the Snapper Season and better weather.
Marx Fishing solid stuff man, cant wait to see more videos
You back over there on holidays or have you moved back there permanently?
Yep, holiday. Doing a 3 month trip across Canada in a Motorhome. Hopefully more fish and videos to come.
Nice looking fish Mark. Don't seem to see a lot of them about here :-) Surprisingly enough fish are fairly fragile creatures and can easily get injured when caught. I always do my best to save them from a slow and painful death after I have caught them and eat them all. lol just joking mate. I toss the undersized ones back. Ha ha ha. I do only catch what I can eat though.
lol... Yeah, I eat plenty too. I always like to release my personal best fish, and the first of any species I catch. I always release Northern Pike and Musky...well almost always. Was a big feed in the end, and we had never eaten pike before.
beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing. New friend here. Keep in touch ..subs 1343
TOKKELEN ANGLERS, thanks! Just subed your channel, look forward to checking it out.
lovely fish..!!! subb'd to your channel too mate...
Thanks, yeah it was a super cool catch.
t get rid of the fishy taste put the fish in a ice bath that way it will be more fresh and easier to fillet
Thanks for the tip! I will try that for sure.
Marx Fishing keep up the work. Love the vids
Thanks!
Awesome video mate!!
Thanks Tom!
