When I first heard the lines "while I ache for faith to hold me, I need to feel the scars and see the proof," I loved the lyrics because they resonated with my Christian faith generally and with what I knew to be true about human nature as a whole. But now I listen to those lyrics 7 years later and think from personal experience, "Yeah. I really do need to see the proof. I am aching for faith to hold me." What I knew to be an intellectual yearning has become a deeper, more intimate heart cry. Became more real, I guess. Always a great song.

I admittedly hated Two Hands at first listen because it was straight up pop. I didn't think it had any depth. To my seventeen year old years, it was clichéd. I admit it still isn't one of my favorite Jars songs, but I do appreciate the ideas behind it. If only Christians could live out their faith that well or better than what I've seen.
