I have Resolume avenue. Hope everything is similar. ? i work on 4 projector's using a 1 in 4 out splitter. Please upload some tutorials to use/map them all with resolume simultaneously.
+Dany Daniel :) Happy it helped. Yes a lot of things are similar but Arena is built as a media server for this reason so I's suggest getting Arena if you are going to do this regularly. I will be making a video soon on that.

Hey New episode will be up tomorrow. and yes down the line I can probably make a video for explaining the workflow too. about MM and Resolume. I feel since Resolume has a much better control over video options is a better choice for your money. MM has some nice options but its not the best at controlling video

Thanks for this great tutorial! I see a few people asking about the "live preview". I am still a little bit confused as to what is happening with the live preview. Is the preview in this video from a web cam or the projector itself? It would be super helpful for me (as a complete projection mapping newbie) to see exactly what is happening there. Also, is the preview in this tutorial a live preview or is it just a screen shot of the cube? Hope this makes sense.
Yes B Mac! it's an input from my webcam which my recording software was also recording and later i could set up it's position on the video. hope this clarifies ٩◔⌣ ◔۶

Hi Aktion kindly how many lumens does your projector has because I tried my some weeks ago but it was not looking that realistic on the wall maybe you guide me through that.
Mine is 7000 if you cant get a very high lumen projector make sure your ambient lights are dimmed.
nice video. how do I hide my windows desktop when projecting? I still can these behind resolume window when demoing. Thanks
you have to select your computer setup as adding another screen rather than mirroring. then your application output will be only sent to the projector.
Can simulate an object like an bulding to the output. I dont hava a projector that would map on a big building ?
Yes Simply add a surface with a picture of the building and put the layer at the bottom and map on it! in the output it will fee like a video of the mapping. \ (•◡•) /

can you somehow syncronize avi with bpm from laptop while playing live ? any software ?
Resolume has the option for BPM control from an external source, It depends what software are you using. I have tried Traktor and Ableton Live with it and works quite well. Search Resolume for BPM sync.
how did you get your preview monitor to display the projection. i can't seem to get it to do that for mine. the preview monitor just stays blank.
I didn't The projection is from a live feed from my screen recording software .. nothing to do with resolume.

good stuff buddy. i would like to see how you can do multiple videos together. i learnt about mapping a week ago. i wana be playin while i do killer graphics since arena has an autopilot function...so while the song plays i can change or clik to a diff videos patterns. i just wana see how can we project map different videos together ... what you mentioned in the video. thanks cheers.... regards!

I am trying to figure out how to do projection mapping with Serato video. Is this possible? I am guessing that I will need another program, such as Resolume... but I am confused as to how Serato and Resolume would sync together in real time. I saw a program named Syphon which seems to help with this, but from my understanding... that program is only available for Apple computers. I use Windows.
I also know of smpte, but I only have 2 decks on my controller... not 4.
Any suggestions to accomplish projection mapping with Serato video would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, Jeremy. Yes you will need something in the middle , but what you need depends upon what exactly are you trying to do. So maybe try using a Hardware Solution. i.e : Midi map your triggers on both softwares? You will have to tell me exactly what are you trying or want to do ?

Basically... I would like to display music videos on multiple projectors, while still being able to play the music from Serato DJ.

Yeah. Each video needs to match each song.
Here is my simplest solution for you to do this. (mac based):
Combine your audio file to your video file make them one. then simply play it on serato.com/video. Serato supports Syphon , so bring the video in via that and finally map it using resolume. Serato > Syphon > Resolume > Display Output.
my output screen is blank (including preview). What would I do?
Well that's very little to go on, but you can try making sure your files are mov files and if that fails contact Resolume tech Support. :)
Hi, I am running an Intel i7 with a GT 630 nvidia card. do I need any other connector/ card to get the resolume output to the projector?
Surfaraz Faras No, I don't think so. just add it as you would a secondary monitor and it should be good.

your projector is on mirror mode, find the graphic settings and use the "extended" option or something like that.

+TAWX Based on specs I'd say go for InFocus SP1080 3500 Lumen Full HD 3D DLP as it has most lumens and full resolution. It could be a good starting point for you.

+Julio Leitao Hey Julio, I am sure there are people who do projection mapping in NYC but I personally don't know anyone enough recommend for teaching. I do teach private Students here in Toronto a much more comprehensive course but you have to be here for that. Its not something I can do online either unfortunately.
Is your projector embedded with camera?
