Ron fixed his whole house for free thanks to this show... lol
I love that bay window it makes that room look fuller. I want something like this in my home.
Pella charges $8,000-$10,000 for this installation and cost of window.
Not bad❤
I'm getting my bay window installed in a week. I saved up my dollars and now I'm ready to get the work done! So excited!!
This videos give me a Reading Rainbow vibe
this guy usually doesn't talk about price. which is important to most people.
That’s a $5,000 window plus a change order for the dry rot
@@vcbuilder5541 lol at least double that. Top of the line wood windows
Yeah, a pure joy to watch... Way to be. Thanks for a wonderful work to presentation.
Wonderful video !!easy to follow along . your window looks awesome I love how it looks like it’s part of the house. I’m doing the same thing for my kitchen window over the sink
So glad I found your vlog. Thank you.
beautiful!
& impressive work!
excellent. I am planning on doing the same thing to my house.
Just what I needed to learn
Watching these videos feels like spending time with the grandpa that I never had.
Perfect! Thanks!
Looks beautiful
The install was very professional
Good improvement.
Excellent Video showing detailed installation! Only thing I'd add is, I know everybody flips the shingle for the starter row, but the instructions on the roofing bundles says to cut the tabs off and move the tar strip down to the edge, so the first row of tabs will be in a tar strip also, so high winds can't flip the first row up, and possibly take more upper rows with it. Or just use actual starter strips.
You're correct! I know it's been 2 years since this comment but yes that's a much better method. Also the metal flashing SHOULD NOT stop at the edge. It should extend beyond the siding and "kick out" from the wall. Otherwise you make a perfect spot for the water to run across the metal and right behind your siding. This fella will have a leak on his flashing most definitely and he won't notice it for 5-10 years.

I love bay windows
I want one!
Look good
Nice job it looks great now let’s say this was a brick wall how much work is involved and cost
Our cats would love that.

THANKS AGAIN..SCOTT K FROM HILLSIDE NJ 😃 😁 😄
Hey do those support cables work on any bay window? Or just Anderson?
That is a nice window and I am sure in 2019 that would probably cost a minimum of $5k to $10k depending on location for the window with the install.
Yep
❤❤❤❤
I bet this is the video Angry Grandpa watched when he wanted a bay window
This looks awesome! It inspired me to have my local Pella office come out and bid doing the same for me -- too bad the salesman just told me it would sag and not work unless I started with a new footing (and I assume then whole foundation, stemwall, framing, subfloor, etc), and then he wanted to make sure he had the last word on the Inflation Reduction Act not actually covering anything due to some mysterious fine print. Anyway, maybe call Pella if you want help with your taxes, unfortunately, try a different company for actual windows..
Just wondering, are you able to sit on that bay window? I am about to have build the same window, just now sure the extended part could be sitting on.
i feel as though Tim the tool man will appear soon on this
Could one install more prominent bottom supports?
lmfao they always pick the easiest houses with the easiest 'problems' to do this too.
do this to a brick veener house with vinvly siding and a soffit preexsisting overhead. not some wooden house with no tyvek and simple little peace of wood rot..
gurban2013 I was wondering about the no tyvek
this 13 minutes video needs 13 days preparation.
How much did the bay window cost
Well said and varieties available. My major 3 concerns besides yours are: the window"flashing" did nothing on the still to protect the new wood. I understand the rain isn't supposed to get in there, but if that is true, why put any flashing there? I would have ran it over the top exposed wood and added some flashing behind the new shingles. 2nd: sure it is the design, but all of that weight relying on 2 cables? It seems ridiculous to me. That was a ton of weight and if either cable falls for any reason, there will be issues of a serious nature. The decorative supports are the 1st thing that will rot. 3rd: run that felt paper up the wall..... what does it cost? Barely 2" is the absolute minimum could get by with.
It looks great and adds charm. Keep it well caulked and painted to protect all that wood.
very good video. what kind of material is used for the panel ? ( around 11 minutes and 33 seconds in the video ?) thanks
That would be any kind of solid wood like pine, alder, oak, etc. you could also probably use MDF since it’s painted there
its actually "wet" rot
What was the cost?
June 23 2023 I have always wanted a bay window but most companies just want to replace exesting window's. So they tell me it's to expensive. But biggest thing is the lost of the center support of a bearing wall. I don't think so! I have two fixed, 3'X4' windows, with over all being 7'X4' what do think? You lost two, any worries with the header? It sounds like work then just replacing the windows.
FUCKED UP AT 7:11
What was the price?
Hi there, Hope all is well! What Pella compnay did you use? What town?
How the f do you waterproof it at the sides of the window?
Looks expensive
YES IT IS
Like 1000
@@stevenwindow3504 that's not that bad. Is that USD?
around $1300
Not sure where you all are getting $1,000-$1,300? You can't touch the window itself for under triple that, not including installation.
Price
Should never put a bay window so close to where the roof line comes out on the other side. Strong rain storms or windy rain storms will result in water penetrating.
I need one install I have the window who can do that for me I live in queens New York
10:49 - But aluminum framing is hollow and can be filled with foam to surpass the insulation value of wood...
I build these at south west vinyl in philly I'm the windowmaster
Looks Awesome. What’s the average cost of something like this?
Lanre G pending area, about 1,200 for the window, then another 1000 or so for install.
Ryan Foster $1000 for a window? No thank you
I priced out the Pella windows, about $3200 plus $2000 to install in my area.
What size?
Felt paper is not water tight. Ice & Water shield and step flashing is the only way to go. Any roofer knows that, and I'll bet that you a beer that pella tape over that felt paper are not even code regarding the side wall. You mine as well of hired a fisherman to roof it.
How much $$$?
They flushed mounted the casing, never do that. Show reveal of at least 3/16, then caulk that corner. Flush mount will always show a crack and is amateur.
Why put the step flashing UNDER the shingles? What good does that do? It just directs water under to the felt paper. Not that I am an expert, but being an amateur I would put the first course of shingle first and then step flashing over that. Otherwise what is the point of it? You already have tape over the top of the felt paper....
Are you the channel that inspired Angry Grandpa to rip his wall out? 😂💀
Lol!!! This window or installation wouldn’t last 1 winter in Canada.
I don't understand something. Are these old videos or something? Great videos, educational, well spoken, but the quality is that of an old tv show or something. Not HD, not wide screen
They are older. late 90s-early 2000s
hahahahhahha what about price???????
My two (too) cents (sense): This installation fails on numerous points, for me. Very light weight low cost install in general. Old growth wood rots and new growth wood rots faster. Modern vinyl construction is superior to wood, imo. Do they use aluminum as the separator between the panes or structural plastic? How good is the gas seal and for how long do they have a full replacement policy. Who uses felt paper anymore. Seriously? Also, they show some loosely installed pink glass insulation in the hip roof and none on the house wall? No knees instead they use rustable cables attached to soft wood structure to 'hang' the window. This will most likely shift or slip as anchors are not strong enough for serious weight over the years. Flower pots, heavy adults, kids . . . Nails not screws. Thin gassy Pink foam board underneath. In the north that will not stop condensation internally. So how long is this install guaranteed for? 50 years? At least? Low-E is not the best choice in northern NY for us. We are concerned more about heat loss up here. My Pellas were replaced with a Canadian OEM and they have been perfect for 18 years so far. Just my opinion.
Hire me please
Millennials are like sheesh... This is why you don't have money? Replacing windows that are perfectly fine?
Looks terrible I’d be 😡
