    I don't know why people have disliked this effort. This is what we've to conserve to our next generation. Ironically people have least or no awareness about the importance of such lakes in our communities. Why only concerned citizens have to take these initiatives. What politicians and beurocrats are doing. Why do they pursue civil services. Why they are blind on such issues. Who issued NOC to the industries to let the effluents without treating. Hence apart from fixing downstream issues we also have to fix the root causes.

    I really don't understand why can't govt do this. Why do citizens have to use their time and money to do this. What are we paying tax for?

    • @mayurnarayan1
      @mayurnarayan1 6 лет назад +5

      You are paying tax to make politicians rich

    • @christycpb
      @christycpb 6 лет назад +9

      You need to change your thinking. No one is to blame. You have to start from within. Do not wait for others to do their part. It is true that we pay the tax. But is nature the sole responsibility of governments and NGOs? We need to do our part. It is we who have polluted it. It's the collective responsibility.

      Christy P Benny or the govt can do their job and provide us with the resources to keep the nature like it is intended to be.
      Look up waste management system! Atleast garbage bins to begin with!

      Rushabh Patel : I completely agree with u , I have always the same question. Yes as citizens we should also contribute to the change , but we citizens wouldn’t have as much money as the govt does , so when there is so much money allotted on a yearly basis , it should be utilised in a correct way and not fill up politicians bank A/cs. Why r the politicians rich ? No one does their job sincerely and expect us to bring the change while we hardly get time to survive in this city ! It should be the government’s duty to clean the mess up and start educating people about the effects of polluting the environment!

      @@Sunil-fg1rf they have money to build 3000 crore statue but can't clean our lakes and the solution is so simple and cheap. If govt did it they would say it cost 10 crore to clean the lake. They should put up hydroponics everywhere in every lake in India.

    As a Bengalurean my heart aches to see the lakes in the squalid condition as they are in today.
    My respects to these lovely activists who have taken up the task of reviving lakes!, but true change can only happen when Government comes up with the correct policies and government bodies do the job properly, unfortunately those working in these departments are nothing but a bunch of incompetent, greedy, corrupt officials with pot belly's.

I feel like crying 😢 when I see the river now. Kindly Bring back the river to its old form I'll also support. Let's spread awareness and bring back the river to its old Form

    We need more citizens like this to make this world a better place for all. Parents should inculcate the importance of a green, eco friendly environment. Just mugging up environmental science question in school will not nurture their instincts.
