Sleeping well and managing stress are also ways to keep your weight down in addition to what they were all saying. Glad this topic was addressed today.

ACCOUNTABILITY is one of the problems. We blame everything and everyone besides looking into the mirror and admitting we don't work out, exercise, cook at home, etc.
We LOVE to blame racism and white people for our problems. NO

No healthy foods are not costlier. That is a cop out. You can get fresh fruits and vegetables at cheap.prices. Some people just like pigging out because fattening foods taste better.

Great, honest discussion. Our community has to deal with the anxiety, depression.....
otherwise get our minds together. We have to stop using food as therapy for what really ails us.

This!!!! Soooo many of us use food for therapy and a coping mechanism! It’s very unhealthy, but way more prevalent than most want to admit.

My issue when it comes to weight loss is you hear people saying there's no excuse in this and that most of the time there's a deeper issue when a person is abusing food but no one really wants to focus on that they want to focus on making a choice if you're very unhappy or you have some depression issues you're not going to stop with the addiction you're going to continue to find a happy place with the food

I’m so happy this was discussed, I’ve had problems with fibroids and cyst on my ovaries and I know for sure it has to do with my diet so I’m trying to cut out dairy, eggs, fried foods beef and pork pt of my diet taking it one step at a time.

I truly truly loved this topic on the show. I’m losing weight now and being health conscious of my food intake. However, this was my first time watching Tammi Mac show and i really wished she would have been conscious of not cutting off the panelist while they were talking. For example, i was really interested in hearing what Brix was trying to saying about the difference between failing and quiting on a weight loss journey at the 28:26 marker, but she completely cut him off. You can tell his demeanor changed slightly after that. I just hope she tries to work on this next time. Actual listening thoroughly before getting too excited to speak 🗣

It’s not calories in,calories out. It’s all about processed foods, seed oils, and the number one culprit SUGAR intake. Read the nutritional facts these three culprits are in everything and everywhere.

The same thing that causes obesity in other "races" consuming more calories than they burn, which those calories are usually high in salt and sugar, and usually a lot of starch/carbs plus having less physical activity such as working out in a week under 30 minutes. Also drugs administered by the doctors even if it was approved by the FDA...very true or definitely true?

    • @metcalfhottie6305

    • @davisholman8149
      @davisholman8149 Год назад +3

It IS A PROBLEM FOR EVERY RACE. One of the biggest culprits is due to STRESS! When you are stressed out you reach for high carb/high fat food - not celery. As a person in the medical field, I also want you to know some drugs can cause it. Anti depressants are known for impacting weight gain in women. Even more so, drugs for bipolar, etc.

To be honest, everyone is genetically predisposed to certain health conditions due to the way an ancestor handled stress. Stress and environments trigger certain genes to express and adapt for organism survival and in some cases it shows up as autoimmune diseases or "inherited" conditions no matter your size. BUT the soil now is not as healthy or nutrient dense as it was in the past. The seeds are not even the same seeds that produced nutrient dense crops. Even the meats are not 100% chemical free. I urge all that enjoy pork to find out what raptamine is and why Taiwan was throwing pig entrails across their parliament floor. The very food you eat is synthetic and in some cases "edible" plastic. We can take back our health, but our solution is a little bit more complex than just eating with portion control and cardio.

Pespective: Maybe they are at home sleeping after working the night shift #nurse #manufacturer #skilledlaborer?
Maybe these sisters hit the gym at 4:45am before getting their kids breakfast ready for school #manager #professional?
Maybe they workout at the gym on campus because they work swing shifts #factorywork #toyota #michelin?
Finally, maybe they are taking a zumba class or working out in the privacy of their homes because they realize they took care of everyone else but let themselves go so they need to build confidence #SAHM?
I don't know when or where you workout or what responsibilities you have, but your perspective needs to broaden my Brother. The weight is always on Black Women and we do fail to balance the load or even lighten it.

I'm tired of trying to find Black girls who like hiking or the outdoors or exercising etc. Honestly speaking, I'm tired of not seeing any black women at the gym or working out at the beach
