Hi, I’m aware that moonbyul is moonbyul real name which I learned through the guide. I just like calling her moonstar because it’s a very cute nickname. It’s totally okay to call her that. I’m not sure why there’s some frustration over the nickname when she and the members sometimes call her that themselves…😅

- "aya" - is what Koreans say when they get hurt, kinda like the equivalent of "ouch" - in this song, the way they were saying it sounded almost sarcastic, like if Superman gets shot, and he brushes it off and goes "ouch" - he felt it, but it was too weak to actually hurt - that is how "aya" comes across to me
- Wind Flower - for me, the way each girl's scene blended in with another girl's was just a depiction of how people can deal with the heartbreak of an ended romance, that they have that same link of heartbreak, but each of them deal with it differently, and in different degrees of pain, with different reactions to it
- the common ground between Aya and Egotistic (in my interpretation of them) is that they are breakup songs, but the partner they broke up with was a self-centered rotten apple, and they were happy to be rid of them and free from that toxic relationship, which they, as strong women, were no longer in the mood to tolerate, so they ended it themselves
- Solar doing pole dancing (she actually does do it in her spare time - it's a beautiful dance form as well as EXTREMELY rigorous and athletic - more respect needs to be given to good pole dancers)

I don't assume knowledge over all of Asia, and Asian words, just because I have the understanding of the Korean usage. I wasn't saying ONLY Koreans use the term, but, as the group IS Korean, I was merely explaining THEIR usage of the term. If that makes you feel left out, sorry, I guess? But I wasn't speaking for you, or the rest of Asia, but simply explaining the KOREAN group's usage of the word in the KOREAN context in the song sung entirely in KOREAN. I wasn't being restrictive in its use, I simply can't be expected to know ALL THE KNOWLEDGE, so there is no need to get so defensive about it. You weren't being left out, you didn't need to lash out. You could simply have stated "yeah, we use that word in that way in MY country as well".
Aya and Egotistic both have an acoustic kind of instrumental sound. In egotistic the influence feels more latin, while aya feels more west asian, but there's some overlap in the sound aesthetic
Fun fact: Here in Brazil we say "ai" when we get hurt (it's pronounced like aya but without the a)
In Argentina and other spanish speaking countries of LATAM we also say "aia" when something hurts

If you want to talk about all rounders I’d say the whole group is. the rapper can sing the singers can rap like crazy they’re all amazing dancers but the ones who excel in it are Wheein and Moonbyul. Most moomoos do say Wheein is the underrated ace and the more you get into them and their moments and their live performances you’ll see both Moonbyul and Wheein really tying in a lot of their harmonies. The members have said Wheein is the backbone of the group (she’s also my ult) honestly just Stan Mamamoo

It's best to watch MMM MVs on their yt channel for subtitles, esp the ones released between 2014-17 because the alt official MV uploaded by their music distributor at that time (usually Stone Music Entertainment) don't have subs. Here's some more info and answers to a few of your questions:
Dingga is a covid song that was a pre-release single from their Travel album. It's MMM's way of trying to cheer us up while we're socially distant by fantasizing about playing games, partying or just having ice cream with friends.
Aya, Wind Flower and Egotistic are MMM's main breakup songs where they explore different ways to leave your lover. One of MMM's main MV concepts is that each member often expresses her own take on the emotional theme of the song or that the members represent different stages in the emotional journey the song takes (or both). The main story in the MVs often go from individual scenes to a group scene at the end, plus the group dance scenes in the chorus.
In Wind Flower they use the cab ride baton pass from Solar to Moonbyul to Wheein to Hwasa to represent four phases of getting over the sadness of a breakup. Wind Flower was the Fall/Blue title track in the 4 Season 4 Color project and Blue is the color of heartbreak in the 4S4C color scheme. 4S4C explores four stages of a relationship via the title tracks.
Egotistic is the Summer/Red title track in the 4S4C project and Red is the color of passion. They're obviously red-hot with anger in this breakup and ready to burn their bridges as well as his guitar. The jaguar was CGI but the fire was real. In this one you'll notice that each member uses props, wardrobe and actions to express her personal take on Red & Passion as they tell the egotistic lover to take a hike. Here's my summary:
Solar - pole dancing & revealing outfits: sexy, sensual, liberated.
Hwasa - jaguar & bathtub: wild, fierce, uninhibited
Moonbyul - tosses chair: angry, self-confident, independent
Wheein - car & fire: badass bitch on wheels, burn his guitar/butt and dance in the flames
Aya is really interesting because as you said it's not as angry as Egotistic. I take it as a song about removing the lingering feelings for a lover and I think they chose the Arabian Nights set & costumes as a way of expressing the seductive power of the romantic stories we tell ourselves when we fall in love. So just like Scheherazade's fantastic stories each member role plays an outrageous character finding her own solution to getting over the relationship. As Hwasa's dominatrix dentist shows, extracting our feelings for that person from our hearts is painful but necessary. Moonbyul feels attacked (the shafts of light) and responds by killing her feelings with an arrow. Wheein feels oppressed and manipulated (belly dancer outfit, veils, hats, dark makeup) and expresses her liberation from the shadows by magically lighting up all the lamps with a candle. Solar is the most confusing because she combined a unibrow inspired by Frida Kahlo with an Asian ghost. Young female ghosts are thought to be haunted by feelings of lost love. Frida Kahlo became a successful artist and grrl power icon despite living in pain due to an accident where her pelvis was impaled when she was a teenager. I think Solar combined the two to produce the final scene where she ritualistically impales the bowl of her tears with a dagger to exorcize her lingering feelings.
Mamamoo is in the odd position of being one of the most respected groups in kpop yet they haven't achieved the commercial success or global recognition you would expect. You can't say they're not successful but their album sales are a small fraction of the most popular groups' albums. They are revolutionary in many ways and they're a truly iconic group but compared to what they deserve as one of the best girl groups to ever grace the planet I'd agree that they're underrated. I think they're taken for granted by kpop fans.

For context: Immortal Songs is a show/competition meant to honor a legendary person in music each episode (singers, song writers, producers, etc). The artists choose a song from that episodes legend to perform and will typically re-arrange the song to fit their style or modernize it. Mamamoo has been on 14 (?) times and has won 3 (?). The medley you’ll be watching consists of several songs they performed (and won with) on the show.
I highly recommend watching the full performances on your own (or reacting to for Patreon) as they get blocked on RUclips but are AMAZING. Especially considering that they went on very early in their career and it is one of the ways they began to gain popularity
They are also the ones who has the most wins for a kpop group.

It's so cool that you felt like they're relatable even with limited exposure. I think they really are different when it comes to the whole 'kpop ideal' or whatever, if you watch any of their behind the scenes stuff or like their mini adventures you can tell they're really cool normal people. (I mean obviously there's things they don't show etc etc) I feel like especially with girl groups they for some reason often have these stage personalities where they always acting 'cutesy' and very often don't voice their real opinions, so mamamoo at least for me is a really special group-

I don't even know where to start. First of all, I was SO EXCITED to see a privated video on your mamamoo playlist and this marathon was like wow happy birthday to me!! I can't wait for the Immortal Songs Medley reaction...it's a deal-sealer. Second, Solar has been pole dancing ever since the Egotistic MV and there are some insane live performances including one where she sings Despacito while spinning on the pole. yup. Third, Moonbyul writes most of her rap parts and is one of the the highest credited female idols in Kpop, which makes every single Moonbyul verse feel like a holy experience.
Also I wish Dingga had captions because they were about the pandemic. "At some point, I’ve found myself so distant from society," "Lacking vitamin D,

Hopefully one day you'll react to their solo stages from their 4S4C concert, first time I saw it, it blew my mind. Solar is a great combination of Hwasa's Sexiness and Wheein's cuteness. Sometimes I can't believe it's the same person. Especially in Dingga. She's sexy in most of the video, the cutest when she does the Dingga Dingga part and a complete dork in the dance break.
