  • Starting a service business in debt is a bad move but more and more people online are saying that is the way to go. This is why I think that is a bad idea.

Looks like I was subscribed on my personal account and not my business account.
I couldn't agree more. Debt could propel me forward in some ways, but it's not necessary. So far I have no debt for this business and would not be likely to acquire debt outside of some unforseen opportunity that I couldn't turn down.

I appreciate you bro, I've been watching your content for a while. I believe that if I was to get a loan now I would know what to do with it since I know my numbers and my area very well. I would have absolutely used it wrong in the beginning though.

Hey what tools do you recommend taking to every job no matter what?

    • @DarylTheFINISHER
      @DarylTheFINISHER  Год назад

That's a good question. I would definitely say a driver, multi-tool, level, a voltage tester, and all the usual hand tools. That would be a good video to make in the future though.

Just my tool bag alone, with all the hand tools that you accumulate, adds up!
Then you got all the power tools, shop-Vac, chop saw, table saw, compressor, wheel barrows etc. Not to mention I have a lot of duplicates now because I used to have guys working with me.
I would say it might not be a bad idea to have a credit card, not with some crazy limit. Enough for you could get started and buy basic tools, and pay it off . monthly!

I know where your coming from. Even with a credit card though, like you said, you should pay it off every month. Most of us aren't that discipline, that's why the credit card companies are undefeated!

I go for the best of the best. Milwaukee fuel and Knipex

I don't have any Knipex but I do have a couple of Milwaukee tools. Almost all of my power tools are Makita though.

Another tip go to your local harbor freight and start small! Baby steps!

I started with tools I had laying around the house and thankfully I already had a truck. Now, I buy specialty tools as I need them. Last purchase I made was a tile saw which I used for a job that thought me the money is not in tiling lol.

I had all the usual homeowner tools from doing work at home and for relatives. All of them were corded. Now I have enough tools to build a house from start to finish lol.

    Another worthwhile video 👍
completely agree many people think they need the top of line tools dam I’m still using my electric Milwaukee tools 3/8” drill 1/2” drill electric sawzall 😊

I still use my corded multi-tool and angle grinder all the time. The most low cost tools get the job done just like the expensive ones. Even though they're inconvenient to use sometimes.

Just bought a few big-ticket tools, cash, last week. Do the porter cable gig for as long as you need, folks, there is light at the end of the tunnel!
Great vid as always Daryl 👍🏻

Thanks for watching! I still use a Porter-Cable framing nailer that I bought 9 years ago. Works like a charm.
