Thanks for the video and glimpse of what this gorgeous book contains. This is a recent discovery for me and I will definitely be picking up a copy soon.
Definitely a beautiful edition that really does justice to Darwin Cooke’s art. Too bad Cooke didn’t draw more outside the super-heroes genre. Unfortunately vol.2 seems to have been delayed (again) to next year. Good review…👍🏻
Hey again! Perhaps I missed it, but do you recommend reading the Parker novels prior to reading the graphic novel? I would expect the extras help provide the necessary context. Thanks!
Hi! I didn’t read any of the novels beforehand and the extras do help to give context but tbh you don’t need any the plots and characters reveal themselves nicely and I would say you need no context just jump in.
@@OffMyShelvesGood to know, thanks. I’ll likely spring for this and the related, upcoming Last Call. It’s showing a pre-order release for August timeframe atm.
@@ferg2914 last call has been pushed forward twice but is due for release on May 12. That may change again though. Hope you enjoy! www.idwpublishing.com/product/richard-starks-parker-the-martini-edition-last-call/
I have never read this... is this martini edition different from the last call edition coming out later this year? Also, can I start with the martini edition?
This is different yes. The last call is basically the martini edition volume 2. They each collect around the same amount of stories, two longer ones and a shorter one. But as he died I think Ed brubaker and others are filling in some gaps in the last call so there are two lingers stories by Darwyn cooke and then a shorter one by others. You can start with it certainly as long as you read Hunter first your are good to go and that is the first story in the first Martin in edition that I look at in this video.
Nice one, mate - thanks for giving us a good look through it.
Thank you for watching! Glad it helped!
A very well detailed review well done mate 👍😀
Thank you very much!
Looks like an awesome book, on its way right now. Thanks for the size comparison though, didn't realise it's even bigger than absolute!
Thank you again and I think you will be happy with it. It’s one of my favourites. If you like it the second and final one is out in May.
Awesome video. Thanks.
Thank you!
Great video. Are you doing a follow-up video on Last Call companion book?
Thank you!…and yes as soon as I have it I’ll be doing video after video only it because I can’t wait!
