"If in doubt: tenuki." ... "Even in a Ko fight?" ... "Did I f*cking stutter?"

I must say, AI really changed things a lot... I recall seeing almost the exact same position of pos 3 on the top left in a Go book (I think by Ootake Hideo) something like 20 years ago. The book says white should block here because it secures white's base and prepares white to counterattack black at the top. Else, black will get more than just taking the corner away, because black will gain a lot of profit on the top attacking that white group in the future (well, that's how I would play it... I'm a scaredy cat who hates being saddled with weak groups). It really shows Katago's eagerness to fight if it opts to counter-pincer the top stone instead.

Nevertheless, Otake Hideo's "Opening Theory Made Easy" is still pretty good and useful.

Great video! Small issue, the photo of the player you used for Byun Sangil is actually Shin Minjun

Thanks for this video! I was always so confused about what tenuki is. I also got a test on the 30th of June. I hope I can reach 9k before then.

Same. I like it. But it did seem a bit jarring. Like maybe if it was introduced a little more subtly instead of screaming into the scene
