What I will say on the size class thing is that, well, the idea of size classes being focused so heavily on size/price has been around for a very long time. Arguably, it goes all the way back to at least Beast Wars when scales were standardized. That standard lasted for around 25 of Transformers’ 40 years, which is absolute ages. Really, Siege was the first line to disregard this and shift priorities, and many more long-time collectors are still having to adjust. With so many figures in the backlogs of collectors that use the old system, it’s hard to really beat the feeling sometimes that your money is getting what it should be for the size. Combine that with the very high prices of figures compared to older releases and the (seemingly) more common QC issues and that gets compounded. Small deluxes are nothing new (ello Classics BB and entire DOTM line how are youuuu) but those figures never felt quite as small as this, and often came with big chunky accessories to help balance out the price.
I still buy TFs, but with the higher prices (justified or not), they have to compete with my other figure interests for my limited spending money. A Deluxe may be $25, but I could also get something like a 350~ piece Lego set for that price, or a 4Horsemen Mythic Legions figure for $35 that hasn’t been made by a million dollar company and feels much more like a good bang for my buck at 7 inches with very hefty pieces made by an indie company. $25 is also almost 1/2 the price of many big video game releases (tho those are also going up in price slowly), so for the same price as 2-3 deluxes you can get a solid length video game. As a fan who remembers collecting as a kid when prices were $10-$12 and later $15 while major game releases were still hovering at around $60 (for better or for worse, mind you) it can feel a bit odd. I know other lines like Marvel Legends have also gone up in price, but those price hikes as of late are not as expensive as with TFs, and I know more engineering is involved, but after you think it once, it’s hard to shake that feeling.

This reviews are going to give Bumblebee insecurities about his height, don't let him read them

Fingers crossed that we get a Wasp repaint/retool of this figure.

I somewhat agree with the size complaints. Bee looks well built but when he's that small, $25 is a lot to pay for something not that much taller than the $12 figures. If Deluxes were still at $20 the sting (pun intended) would hurt less.

He's small because they wanted to make him scale well with Deluxe Animated Universe Prowl and the new Voyager Animated Prime.

@@mintygreendays yes, I get that. It's accurate. I'm thinking like a parent would think when buying a toy for their kid. This little Bumblebee is the same price as say the Rise Of The Beasts Bumblebee, so If I was a parent I'd buy the ROTB Bumblebee because it's the same character, different version, but you get more Bumblebee for your money.

In my eyes saying Bumblebee is small is like saying water is wet. He should always be one of the smallest on the Autobots. if your gonna fix him for the price, give him more accesories to balance out the price. Also reuse this mold for multiple characters.

I feel like the 19.99 Deluxe price point used in EarthSpark would have helped people stomach the price better. Me on the other hand, I ordered him day 1, and I love this little fella

It's wild to me that like... there are people who were kids during animated who are adults now. I remember watching it as it was airing as an adult... holy crap I feel old suddenly.
That said, feels good hearing people feel nostalgic for it. It was a great show.

I definitely want to see a video on people's reviews on a Leader class figure and how that changes people's opinions because of the higher price point.

I don’t think people are wrong for disliking the size for the price. ROTB weaponizers and RID2015 warriors showed you can do a lot of interesting things for 15 dollars, so maybe just introducing that middle price point to generations could alleviate that complaint. If only it were as simple as that eh

Smaller 3rd party toys cost much more. Complexity and part count costs money.

13:15 gonna have to agree. One of the things that makes transformers great, going all the way back to G1, is that you get different sized peeps. I'm really not a fan of "everyone is the same size" toylines... can't really explain why.
