It is so sad that Uganda has not grown since the late 1960s. Uganda has only one city, Kampala qualifies to be a city. Even Kampala is about to fall out of the city status. No other town in Uganda qualifies to be a city. For the last 37 years the government, rich people and the Indians have taken all Uganda resources. Uganda needs a completely new government of people from overseas that are well educated and not corrupt, but ready to fight corruption, change the constitution back to two term limits and establish some laws in order to build the country back up.
Infact I like your version it's not like others who move with praise over other cities in the North, I think Lira is a big city and wide enough compared to any other city in the region
I've so far visited only Mbarara, Lira and Gulu and I found Gulu to be bigger. It has potential of becoming a great city because it is not congested like Mbarara. I think the planning was great. However, in terms of development, Mbarara is doing great. I enjoyed Lira so much though because of the hospitality. They also have many factories which is a good sign for development.
In Kenya there is 4 cities and deserve to be namely Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and recently Nakuru. In Tanzania among 31 headquarters of administrative regions only 6 granted city status i.e
What are criteria for an urban area to be labeled as a city? How can the small town like this with less than 150,000 population be deserve the city status?

You missed the best parts of the city because you choose a worst tour guide, next time get aproffessional. Which hotel did you see there? Your tour is Fake and bias

It was already a town since 1960's, you still think it should remain a town up-to now?
Lira City's projected population (2020) is 249,900

Boda before saying something first prove if it's true don't spoil the name of lira city
Not worthy to be made a city maybe if the word itself lost a meaning
It doesn't qualify to be a city
