Nice Service, though I would say that places like the Hinges, Peddle Hinge & Seatpost Clamps are places I would have liked to have seen included on a Brompton Service.

I really enjoy the videos. Have been watching them at work when I have some down time or when I'm bored of working. Subscribed too.
It looks like you don't rinse the bike before or after washing it. You just wipe off the dirty suds with a cloth. Seems like a simpler process for cleaning a bike indoors instead of having to wash it outside. I'll think I'll try that in the future.

I have had my Brompton for 3 years and I must say it is still my favorite. Maintenance is incredibly easy which I have done many times over just for fun because it really is a joy to tune. I have gone as far as removing ALL the components within the internal geared hub just to see how it works and done this many times also. If you own a Brompton with an internal geared hub I wouldn’t bother dismantling it just for maintenance sake, all the times I have done this I noticed absolutely no wear - the hub is bomb proof. Love this bike

I'm surprised, that you take the shifter apart and use your standard slick cable. There are specific Brompton shifter cables with a smaller diameter cylinder at the end that fits through the hole next to the shifter lever without disassembling the whole unit.

Was just thinking about this same thing, as a regular Brompton mechanic on a shop that imports these in Finland.

This wasn’t a standard cable but one of our own with a narrower diameter end. We always like to open them to check and address lubrication if needed.

Nice job on the bike service! Two things about this bike stuck out for me, both about the front wheel: it has no quick-release system, and it's radial laced. Is that typical for Bromptons?

I loved to see the attention used on this bike, but I wondered why the the guide wheels haven't got the skirts, like on my 6 speed? And as a first after buying my SuperlightM6LXBrompton in 2019, for the saved Vacation Money, I gave it all an Auto Polish and found out that the small "clear tape" Protection, pieces from the Factory had one been worn through to nearly the paint, after two or three folds, so I immediately ordered a full set of "protective plates" and a shield from China (The main supplier of of better and lighter Brompton accessories, as also Korea and Taiwan!). Since then I have changed and added titanium and carbon parts to reach a weight of about 8,5 kilo, and still with my mudguards. I expect to come down to, or below 8 kilo when finished? Finn. Denmark

    • @Bikespeeds

I used them on a single speed I built a few years ago, because I didn’t want the valve showing and overall they were superb! I wouldn’t run a serious bike on them but for a town bike they work.
