The crowd is NOT ALOUD to be LOUD and JUMP AROUND when it's live t.v. These shows are broadcasted on T.V. and have to have perfect audio and video for the people at home. So basically people going wild in the crowd would ruin it for people at home.
I don't think the crowd is supposed to be all energetic and start dancing and jumping and screaming. It's all about Gavin DeGraw and recording this allright, so people on the internet can enjoy. A few people could just sit there and listen to it live. A privelege to them, I wish I were there and sat there. So don't go bitching on the crowd, because they weren't supposed to stand up and dance/shout. When he says 'How you're all feeling' they shout along very well, so what's the problem?
Rob & B I like it. Gavin's very soulful in this performance. I think of the studio recording as the basic form of the song with which the artist can tweak during the live performances based on their current emotions

The format of this show is an epic fail, why not just sit mannequins there instead. On the Jools Holland show over here in the UK, people actually stand up and move around because the set is different you have people on either side. Nothing pisses you of more when your singing your heart-out and everyone looks straight-jacketed. Anyone thinking that you can't record a live show and have people having a good time is obviously not a sound-engineer.
