Looks like we’re getting a lot more Luis, very happy with how much of an expanded role he’s got in the remake. Also love how all the stuff that felt like it was missing in the main game is being included now!
If you run out of pistol ammo with him he’ll give you ammo, but I had unlimited on and wouldn’t accept the ammo and he would just yell “LEon” “LEON” at me over and over. I loved it.

Why are we giving praise when we’re being charged for cut content ? I’m fine with this DLC costing money. I’m not fine with main game content being cut then thrown behind a paywall. It's so haunting to see Albert Wesker again after all these years ever since his death way back in 2009 during Resident Evil 5. He's always been the antagonist mascot of this series. The franchise was never the same after he died.

Makes way more sense to have the laser room in an Ada story! It just fits better with her whole spy, espionage deal. Love how they take the original Re4 and separate ways and remixed them to keep it fresh. With as much as was packed in this trailer I can’t imagine it being shorter than the original separate ways, possibly even longer

Man I still remember playing the re4 mercenaries mode on the ps2. That one stage on water while using Leon was one of the most frustrating experiences I ever had.

So from the looks of things, the things that were cut out from the original re4 are being moved towards Ada's chapter. As a couple of examples the laser grid we see is from a quick time where Leon had to dodge them. The fight against the gigante looks like its from when leon after the cabin siege gets to choose which path in remake they did the bella sisters so Ada gets the other. The Ski lift which was completely cut out from leon is with Ada. The other verdigo who just went missing is clearly fighting Ada. What is interesting is Ada is shown moving along the cliff face which I think is in the valley area where Leon goes to get the crank after waking up there is a lot of structures we dont go to so looks like Ada does go to them. Ada is also shown infected which is interesting as we saw no signs of that before BUT Luis's lab is remarked by Leon as having signs someone collected things from it implied to be Ada. I dont see U3 but considering the Verdigo is showing obvious mutations I am guessing it will change into U3 as her final boss. I see the original weapons from RE4 separate ways the pistol TMP Crossbow and shotgun with forward grip stock kind of cool they made her grapple gun a part of her attacks. Honestly cant wait to play this.
the lighting, environment, and hand at 1:40 is most likely a scene from the U3 fight. Given that almost everything else the base game didn't feature was shown in this, it's an absolute given
I think leon's line mentioning looting in luis' lab was meant to imply that luis himself stole stuff from umbrella (and brought it all to that lab)? I don't remember the game stating that umbrella was ever in the island, though luis was in fact a part of the europe division I don't think they were in that lab at all, the whole area has real makeshift vibes in general along with being right next to all the sanctuary areas. Regardless, I'm also unsure if ada would've visited that spot before leon, unless they invent some alternate path. Excited for the expansion regardless
The other Verdugo is named U3 according to a note. So I think the original U3 is gone for good. It's not a bad thing, since it was one of the more out of place and forgettable parts of the original.
I genuinely still cant get over how incredible the graphics are for this game. I never would have thought game graphics would be this phenomenal, yet they keep getting better and better.

I wasn't expecting the grappling hook to be used that way and we get all of her classic weapons too. Damn RE4 Remake really has been an amazing game start to finish!
I kept telling people they need to wait for Separate Ways before getting frustrated about cut content. I was right! This looks like it’s expanding on the story and gameplay significantly. Can’t wait to play this.

@@burtwonk I dunno about that. The Pablo Kuntz-era is Juliard-level acting, if you ask me. Richard Waugh did a great job too. DC's portrayal was too over the top for me. I like that this one is more subtle, which I certainly like better. He's lost that pompous cadence in his voice that he seemed to develop later on in the series and DC took way too far, which is also a great thing IMHO.
When I played the Remake a kept wondering what happened to the other Verdugo. In the original it mixes with Salazar, I love that they used him as an independent boss in this DLC. And some areas that were removed from the original game are in here. Marvelous decision, looks like so much fun.

Best game to ever exist, remember the sleepless nights when my cousin arrived to the castle... Mixed emotions between fear and excitement... Yes i was just a kid back then, i was always watching my cousin playing it in the summer holidays. Wow nostalgia and still to this day i play resident evil 4..

REmake 1 and 4 are the only ones that IMO are full blown replacements. RE2make is great, but fumbles the scenario system and some story elements. 3make is a downright regression in design from RE3. But REmake 1 and 4 just are the original games, expanded and improved in every way. There is nothing OG RE1 or 4 had that I miss in REmake 1 and 4.
I agree. I think with the addition of what seems to be a new and improved Separate Ways, the RE4 remake will be the definitive version of the game overall. I’ve played the original countless times, and even I have to admit that remake is even better in many ways.
Thankfully those nostalgia critics can shut up now. The Remake before this DLC was already better in gameplay, story, and tone. Now it's undisputed after this DLC bring back more content from the original along with making Ada's journey more intriguing than a rehash from Leon's
The LASER HALLWAY makes a return! Yes!! As someone who has died in that hallway FAR too much through the years, I'm estactic that it's back! Loving Ada's bigger use of the grappling hook (pulling shield, etc.). Still hoping U3 shows up and while I'm still not a fan of Ada's direction and VA, I can't wait for this!
I was so disappointed that Leon didn't dodge the lasers during the main storyline. But as soon as I saw the laser hallway clip with Ada, I was so ecstatic.

I’d really like to see Ada’s very own story filling in the gaps from resident evil 1 up to present day or whilst umbrella was still about before liquidation she really deserves her own game but then again I suppose it take away the mystery surrounding her

The laser room is back! But also - i love how Luis has an expanded role, it seems like Wesker makes a physical appearance (assuming it's not in Ada's infected mind), and that Ada is also infected. I always thought the OG Separate Ways while fun, was lacking, but this seems like just a wonderful improvement!

If they ever remake Code Veronica I would absolutely love a expansion side story like this but with Wesker as the playable character. Play as him during his attack on the Island with his mercenary force and have a whole scenario of the stuff he has to encounter and go through while Claire and the others do their thing during the game events. But I know that is unlikely so I am just glad they are doing this for the remake because the original game it was really awesome and this looks amazing.

I think it would be a much-appreciated gesture by fans if Capcom, through Separate Ways, explored the timeline between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 at the end of the DLC. Even just a cutscene or dialogues would be sufficient for this purpose. The dialogue between Ada and Wesker in the ending of Resident Evil 4 Remake is a clear reference to the events of Resident Evil 5 and would help better connect the two games. It's important to note that when Resident Evil 4 was released in 2005, Resident Evil 5 was not yet in development plans, but now there's an opportunity to expand the story retroactively. I truly hope that Capcom seizes this opportunity and provides fans with some hints about the events we'll see in Resident Evil 5 Remake. It would be fantastic if Capcom also made remakes of Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil 1, and Resident Evil Code: Veronica. A Dino Crisis remake would be very welcome too. I continue to hope that Capcom considers the fans' wishes.

Luis went from npc character in the OG to become the best written character in the remake, he's like the heart that glued the characters and story perfectly, from his tragic story and fun persona, he easily became my favorite character and i wish he'd survive, capcom outdid themselves there 👏

Man this is so hard for GOTY. When RE4 Remake came out I really want it to win GOTY, but BG3 happens. Now with this DLC it works so well on the missing parts on RE4 it was Ada doing or cleaning up those parts to open it up for Leon. HOLY CRAP! This DLC and how they planned it AMAZING!
Now that we know a lot of the "cut" content was kept for Ada, I have to say, it seems like a good decision overall. All the content is there, give Ada more uniqueness and time to shine, and keeping some stuff acclrding to the tone and style lf each character. We still have to wait to play the full DLC, but so far I think the whole RE4R package is yet another huge and undeniable win for Capcom.
The original separate ways was ALOT of retreading in the OG, i think they must have kept alot of those things to keep the DLC interesting. Maybe we'll get more of the wacky cut content for Ada since you don't have to take ashley with you.
None of this was or is cut content. It wasn’t in the original game at all. You had to rebuy the full game on ps2 to get this. It was extra content that was added for the ps2 version to incentive people who already bought/owned it on the GameCube to buy it again.

So basically, some the set pieces not found in the remake got transferred to separate way. Interesting how the Ada Wong fits more with the laser sequence considering she's a spy focused on agility while Leon is brute forcing everything.
First time hearing Ada's new voice. Not a fan. She doesn't have the quiet bravado and confidence she's always had. RE6 Ada was perfect. She had a real international super spy vibe in that game.
I love how capcom put in all those funny shenanigans like the laser hallway in Separate ways now and DAMN! Luis gets tons of screen time in this game man^^
I believe there are intriguing possibilities for a good Resident Evil 4 DLC, perhaps even better than the original. Ada facing the Verdugo makes sense, especially considering that, in the main story of the remake, one of the two survives (the black one, whereas in the original, it fused with Salazar and was red). I am particularly excited about the chance to relive the laser scene from a different perspective than the original. I also hope they include the battle against U3, present in the original but absent in the remake. Surprises and new content in Separate Ways would be very welcome.
The second Verdugo is referred to as U3 in the remake (the first one and the novistadors are U1 and U2), and it seems to be mutating in this trailer. My prediction is that it's going to be a recurring boss, with each encounter having it more and more mutated until the final showdown has it look like the original game's U3.

I've corrected the timing; in some cases, it was a second behind the scene, even though it was just a matter of milliseconds' difference. In the trailer, the Verdugo appears five times: at 0:29, 1:09, 1:12, 1:15, and 1:40. It's likely a B.O.W. that Ada will have to face multiple times, and in the epic final showdown, it may undergo a mutation, possibly more than what the trailer reveals. My intuition suggests that the scene seen at 1:40 could be Ada's first encounter with the Verdugo, where it begins to hunt her. I might be right, or I might not be in the end; these are speculations based on a 2:04 trailer.
@@Pipsintheair there are two verdugos, in the original game one is in the basement just like in the remake where you wait for the elevator and the other is the U3 bossfight that they cut from the remake. So the verdugo in this trailer is mostlikely the U3 who Aida will have to kill eventually.
In original Ada's campaign was too short and had nothing new. The producer team knew they must give more attention to Ada. She is so loved and a truly independent protagonist that needed her own game. They give Ada some of levels that originally was Leons. It's not like Leon didn't get enough, He did and Ada get the screen time she always deserved. I'm fully hyped for DLC. BIG thanks to CAPCOM.

After playing and finishing Separate Ways, I must say job well done Capcom. Job well done. I have 1 more thing to ask of you Capcom. For the sake of one last hoo rah, please launch and give us an Assignment Wesker DLC 😊 you could make it 45 minutes to 1 hour long, and you could make it 3 stages. Stage 1 would be Wesker making his way to save Ada in the village by traveling through the Valley section in the village from the upper level to the lower level and fighting a mad chainsaw on steroids to retrieve the wheel that opens up the gate to the abandoned factory. Stage 2 would feature the dragon lava room in the castle. And you could send Wesker there for any miscellaneous objective to complete. And stage 3 would be Wesker making his way to retrieve Krauser's dead body by overcoming any path and obstacles to get to that point. If you make this one last DLC for re4 remake, it would be so awesome and adored by the fans 😊 hopefully you read this comment capcom

I think leon's line mentioning looting in luis' lab was meant to imply that luis himself stole stuff from umbrella (and brought it all to that lab)? I don't remember the game stating that umbrella was ever in the island, though luis was in fact a part of the europe division I don't think they were in that lab at all, the whole area has real makeshift vibes in general along with being right next to all the sanctuary areas. Regardless, I'm also unsure if ada would've visited that spot before leon, unless they invent some alternate path. Excited for the expansion regardless
The other Verdugo is named U3 according to a note. So I think the original U3 is gone for good. It's not a bad thing, since it was one of the more out of place and forgettable parts of the original.

@@burtwonk I dunno about that. The Pablo Kuntz-era is Juliard-level acting, if you ask me. Richard Waugh did a great job too. DC's portrayal was too over the top for me. I like that this one is more subtle, which I certainly like better. He's lost that pompous cadence in his voice that he seemed to develop later on in the series and DC took way too far, which is also a great thing IMHO.

When I played the Remake a kept wondering what happened to the other Verdugo. In the original it mixes with Salazar, I love that they used him as an independent boss in this DLC. And some areas that were removed from the original game are in here. Marvelous decision, looks like so much fun.

RE4 remake is probably my favourite out of the remakes so far. Capcom have greatly expanded on the original and made it better in every way.
REmake 1 and 4 are the only ones that IMO are full blown replacements. RE2make is great, but fumbles the scenario system and some story elements. 3make is a downright regression in design from RE3. But REmake 1 and 4 just are the original games, expanded and improved in every way. There is nothing OG RE1 or 4 had that I miss in REmake 1 and 4.
I agree. I think with the addition of what seems to be a new and improved Separate Ways, the RE4 remake will be the definitive version of the game overall. I’ve played the original countless times, and even I have to admit that remake is even better in many ways.

The LASER HALLWAY makes a return! Yes!! As someone who has died in that hallway FAR too much through the years, I'm estactic that it's back! Loving Ada's bigger use of the grappling hook (pulling shield, etc.). Still hoping U3 shows up and while I'm still not a fan of Ada's direction and VA, I can't wait for this!

If they ever remake Code Veronica I would absolutely love a expansion side story like this but with Wesker as the playable character. Play as him during his attack on the Island with his mercenary force and have a whole scenario of the stuff he has to encounter and go through while Claire and the others do their thing during the game events. But I know that is unlikely so I am just glad they are doing this for the remake because the original game it was really awesome and this looks amazing.

I think it would be a much-appreciated gesture by fans if Capcom, through Separate Ways, explored the timeline between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 at the end of the DLC. Even just a cutscene or dialogues would be sufficient for this purpose. The dialogue between Ada and Wesker in the ending of Resident Evil 4 Remake is a clear reference to the events of Resident Evil 5 and would help better connect the two games. It's important to note that when Resident Evil 4 was released in 2005, Resident Evil 5 was not yet in development plans, but now there's an opportunity to expand the story retroactively. I truly hope that Capcom seizes this opportunity and provides fans with some hints about the events we'll see in Resident Evil 5 Remake. It would be fantastic if Capcom also made remakes of Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil 1, and Resident Evil Code: Veronica. A Dino Crisis remake would be very welcome too. I continue to hope that Capcom considers the fans' wishes.

Luis went from npc character in the OG to become the best written character in the remake, he's like the heart that glued the characters and story perfectly, from his tragic story and fun persona, he easily became my favorite character and i wish he'd survive, capcom outdid themselves there 👏

Now that we know a lot of the "cut" content was kept for Ada, I have to say, it seems like a good decision overall. All the content is there, give Ada more uniqueness and time to shine, and keeping some stuff acclrding to the tone and style lf each character.
We still have to wait to play the full DLC, but so far I think the whole RE4R package is yet another huge and undeniable win for Capcom.
I'd say it's one of their best remakes finally matching what the first remake did.
The original separate ways was ALOT of retreading in the OG, i think they must have kept alot of those things to keep the DLC interesting. Maybe we'll get more of the wacky cut content for Ada since you don't have to take ashley with you.

None of this was or is cut content. It wasn’t in the original game at all. You had to rebuy the full game on ps2 to get this. It was extra content that was added for the ps2 version to incentive people who already bought/owned it on the GameCube to buy it again.

So basically, some the set pieces not found in the remake got transferred to separate way. Interesting how the Ada Wong fits more with the laser sequence considering she's a spy focused on agility while Leon is brute forcing everything.
First time hearing Ada's new voice. Not a fan. She doesn't have the quiet bravado and confidence she's always had. RE6 Ada was perfect. She had a real international super spy vibe in that game.

I believe there are intriguing possibilities for a good Resident Evil 4 DLC, perhaps even better than the original. Ada facing the Verdugo makes sense, especially considering that, in the main story of the remake, one of the two survives (the black one, whereas in the original, it fused with Salazar and was red). I am particularly excited about the chance to relive the laser scene from a different perspective than the original. I also hope they include the battle against U3, present in the original but absent in the remake. Surprises and new content in Separate Ways would be very welcome.
The second Verdugo is referred to as U3 in the remake (the first one and the novistadors are U1 and U2), and it seems to be mutating in this trailer. My prediction is that it's going to be a recurring boss, with each encounter having it more and more mutated until the final showdown has it look like the original game's U3.

I've corrected the timing; in some cases, it was a second behind the scene, even though it was just a matter of milliseconds' difference. In the trailer, the Verdugo appears five times: at 0:29, 1:09, 1:12, 1:15, and 1:40. It's likely a B.O.W. that Ada will have to face multiple times, and in the epic final showdown, it may undergo a mutation, possibly more than what the trailer reveals. My intuition suggests that the scene seen at 1:40 could be Ada's first encounter with the Verdugo, where it begins to hunt her. I might be right, or I might not be in the end; these are speculations based on a 2:04 trailer.

In original Ada's campaign was too short and had nothing new. The producer team knew they must give more attention to Ada. She is so loved and a truly independent protagonist that needed her own game. They give Ada some of levels that originally was Leons. It's not like Leon didn't get enough, He did and Ada get the screen time she always deserved. I'm fully hyped for DLC. BIG thanks to CAPCOM.

After playing and finishing Separate Ways, I must say job well done Capcom. Job well done. I have 1 more thing to ask of you Capcom. For the sake of one last hoo rah, please launch and give us an Assignment Wesker DLC 😊 you could make it 45 minutes to 1 hour long, and you could make it 3 stages. Stage 1 would be Wesker making his way to save Ada in the village by traveling through the Valley section in the village from the upper level to the lower level and fighting a mad chainsaw on steroids to retrieve the wheel that opens up the gate to the abandoned factory. Stage 2 would feature the dragon lava room in the castle. And you could send Wesker there for any miscellaneous objective to complete. And stage 3 would be Wesker making his way to retrieve Krauser's dead body by overcoming any path and obstacles to get to that point. If you make this one last DLC for re4 remake, it would be so awesome and adored by the fans 😊 hopefully you read this comment capcom
