- In the combat approach also called "Sarajevo Approach" the airplane descends rapidly with landing gear down and fully extended flaps and air brakes from a high altitude in a steep angle and is pulled up just in time for the touchdown to avoid the range of enemy weapons. This landing was used by the Luftwaffe's C-160 in the Bosnian war in Sarajevo, hence the name.
Don't miss the entire German armed forces display: • 4K | German Army and A...
Only those who have flown to Sarajevo, know why it is called the Sarajevo approach. Still, this is insane and I would love to be on board.
A corkscrew combat landing is no fun.
It felt like falling from the skies. Your first thaughts were like: "Alright, it ends here now." .. but then: "Okay, the pilots are absolutely messed up guys, beyond any reason - but we're still alive!!."... and you had to change your pants.
It would have been more insightful if the camera was panned out so that we could see the planes relation to the ground.
This was botched successful landing... had rip elevator at last second to keep from breaking the hull in half. The long float is another indicator. Watch how smooth its done on other vids
You’re the only who saw he messed it up. Went down too long and aggressive so for roll it was too late so he must elevate and level the plane.
Starke Leistung!Hut ab!
Das üben wir aber nochmal , das geht Spektakulärer
Video Top nur Waaaaarum diesse Musik???
Die C-160 ist bei uns in EDLT auch schon 2012 gelandet ;)
That looks pretty tame for a combat landing.
Not really most commercial flights take over 10 minutes to land. They land the plane in less then a 3 minutes.
@@bobosullivan6315 I land in Iraq often, combat corkscrew. Much worse than this demonstration.
@@sspence65 Doubtful, but good job?
@@sspence65 Do you land a 60 year old propeller machine loaded with 6 tons of goods there? Or is it a more agile airplane?
