A good brush is something every synth geek needs! ... and the long bristles and wooden (edit: faux-wood plastic) top are no joke. I've managed to accidentally scratch things before, while using a cheap short-bristle paintbrush with a metal housing. Edit: I found a barber's neck duster brush which seems nice, so I ordered one. I hope it'll work well.
Thank you Bo for these ideas! Those oil paintings are awesome. Also that synth book looks great. You usually recommend cables, dust covers, etc for cheaper gifts. I’m thinking of getting my dad a couple of your recommendations. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the recommendations Bo! I'm definitely checking out that first one! I personally think a guitar pedal is a great and underrated gift for a synth lover :))) dx
also other affordable gifts 1. korg volca range, bass, beats, samples, nubass, fm etc 2. behringer td-3, rd-6 or crave 3. microphones vocal/instrument- Shure sm57 or sm58 will last them decades and sound great 4. usb to din midi : MIDI 2x2 USB MIDI interface 5. ikea laptop stands for desktop synths - cheap and great (also available on amazon btw) 6. harley benton guitars - cheap but decent quality - i have 4 of them now! 7. akai usb controller -Akai MIDIMix and affordable 8. headphones - affodable shure srh-440 9. proper mechanical keys QWERTY usb keyboard for their computer 10. a box full of adapters phono to 6.5mm jacks, 3.5 to 6.5 jacks etc. and for the eurorack guys/gals Behringer 110 synth module ( osc, filter, vca)
I like your videos. I too got excited about the brush and purchased one. I also purchased the Bastl Kastle 1.5 (not the drum machine); I look forward to getting it in my Christmas stocking!
Some great ideas in here Bo! I went crazy and treated myself this year with a major studio upgrade! The Mackie Onyx12 mixer, a Behringer Neutron (just for fun, on sale for $200!), a Roland TR 8s (drum game 'bout to step up haha) and a 4TB SSD for my computer!
Hi Bo I used to play keys in a band in the 80’s my first synth was a Korg 770s and gave it up to pursue my career elsewhere in The electronics industry. I loved making sounds in that. I’m looking to make my own music again and I really want to get back into Synthesis. I have a VK8 and a Kronos, and an Alesis USB 8 Mixer ( I used a few times on stage when I didn’t have a job) which is fine but I am looking now for analog real time, a bass synth, a lead (knob twiddling) synth with effects, a rhythm machine ( incl drums) and an interface where I can connect these all together to make my own songs, stop .start add sections to the music and record it. Many people have suggested Novation for bass synth, Rev 2 or Take 5 for leads , Behringer for rythym ( drums). Not really looking for workstation s/ware or a mic to sing into as I prefer real time playing. Budget around 2000- 2500€ Please can you suggest a good set of items I can put together to start play/recording songs again using some crazy synthesis I have in mind Your help / experience is appreciated
just bought the synth brush last week and I love it. BUT it is sooo not made of wood! At least mine isn't - it's plastic with a wooden texture pressed into it. Or do you have the custom shop version? ^^
The Koala app is my top pick. For kids it's the easiest to use, also the cheapest. Both my 8yo nephews and 10yo niece can record their voices and sequence them in roughly 10 minutes. They never really got the hang of any of the pocket operators.
Hejsan! God jul! :)
Yeah I think I'll still buy a cheap fat paint brush from the discount HW Store 😉 That Synth book is amazing though ! I love the stuff that Kastle make. It's always tiny little gear with big fat sounds 👍

Saaaammme. ORDERED
I was literally about to buy a paintbrush for this purpose this weekend and decided to send the link to my wife for Xmas instead!
I was too! Until I saw that it was something like 17 Euros, with 27 or 50 Euro shipping options to Canada, yikes!
My favorite series of yours! A nice list of things to give myself this year lol!

So cool to see Frederic Meslin’s stuff getting recognition!
I recently bought the microfreak hoodie. It is absolutely beautiful.
Glad to hear you like it!!

thanks Bo !! great ideas there
The zekit sounded like the perfect original ff7 boss music composer 😅😂
Some solid choices this year. I need to pick up a couple Varidocks
Yup. I wonder if they do one to fit the Dreadbox Typhon?
The Pocket KO would be a wonderful stocking stuffer for me. Now the question is how do I hint this to my totally none synth wife? 🤔
you send her my video!
@@BoBeats haha.. yes!
@@BoBeats maybe she’ll read my comment and be like.. that little schemer!🤭
ah but you wont know!
Not affilated, but 319-70$ in US
I love the fact that you differentiate between music makers and synth lovers at the beginning!

Always love this videos to help me find affordable stuff for myself. I don’t have someone that will give me any gifts anymore 🤷🏼♀️
I’m with you on that so, I start my Christmas shopping with me and I’m never disappointed .
Great collection of items. Now when my wife asks me what I want for my birthday or Christmas, I have this RUclips link to give her. Thanks!
I have no family but I'll buy myself something, thanks Bo!
I really want that book
Me, too. I have the other bjooks.
Yep, it's that time of the year.
Perfect vid thx!
Thanks for this! The labelmaker it is. My gift to you has been to not have skipped the ads on this video.
Thanks! Appreciated ♥️
I have forwarded this video to my wife.. _Please take action Immediately_
Thanks Bo I will add all these to my excel file of Christmas suggestions that I will inadvertently drop on my wife’s email
Those shirts and hoodies are awesome, you should add one for Maschine!
I use a 2" horse hair paint brush for dusting!

"Unfortunately it's not available before feb '22!"
"Gaawddamnid!"
Those fuckin bristles! That duster is dope
Imma gift myself that midihub! perfect foe hybrid setups like min!
I got really excited about Varidock. Sadly there isn't a Maschine specific stand.😭
I think Maschine MK3 and + will be too large for varidock
I’m sending this to my wife 🤓🤟🏻
My Xmas gift to myself: Roland Jupiter-X or Novation Summit. What have Santa to say about that?
I am buying a shirt they are sweet!!
I love Annalog sound but sometimes it's a bit harsh on the ears with the high frequency. Dust is a nightmare lol.
just bought the synth brush last week and I love it. BUT it is sooo not made of wood! At least mine isn't - it's plastic with a wooden texture pressed into it. Or do you have the custom shop version? ^^
lol no seriously? I suck with materials :-) felt wood to me
Cables! wires! connectors!!!!!!!! Cheap and no one ever has enough wires and cables
Absolutely! This gift never gets old
Useful, but boring

oh no gifts for me here…? 🧐😒
synth duster hahahahahah yeah ok. paint brush no?
Just buy a paintbrush job done
Bo is getting commercial. A synth brush? Really? A synth label printer? A 404 bag? Wtf man. Its time to build a synth yourself. Stop this nonsense
Done one vid like this every year since 2017. They are quite appreciated.
