Great deep cut from Lynyrd Skynyrd. Ronnie Van Zant’s vocals are always on target and always perfectly capture the mood of whatever song he’s singing. Just legendary.
Oh my, I cannot wait for him to get to "Call Me The Breeze." We are going to have to scrape Silas off the ceiling after that epic Rossington solo on that song.
It's hard to believe it's 7 minutes long because it feels like everything that's in there needs to be there. It takes its time to communicate something really sincere. And it does it both vocally and with the harmonies and musically, and with the feel and the chord voicings that are kind of non-standard in a lot of ways. And of course the various guitars really convey the emotion as well. This is one of those songs that if you hear it a few times, it's there forever. I mean years can go by and out-of-the-blue I'll find myself humming the chorus to this and hearing the harmonies in my head and I'll think where in the world did that come from?!
Glad you're getting into Skynyrd. Please listen to some of the One More From the Road album. It's live Skynyrd at their best! Remember anything after 1977 is not THIS version of the band. BTW, wait till you hear That Smell, it's gonna blow your socks off!!
Hey there young man from Ned all the way from España. This an amazing song, performance and production written in part by Ed King and I'm pretty sure he's doing the solo. It just smolders and does some of the sweetest chord variations, voicings and transpositions with these brothers doing everything they can to collectively bring out all that bluesy beauty. First time I heard this song a hundred years ago I got misty. You have got to play this for Alivia maybe on an anniversary or just to let her know how you feel ???
We had the best music ever to listen to growing up in the 70’s! Cutting edge inventors of technology and sound! They were allowed to create! Enjoy your channel!😊🤗🎸🎶🌵☀️🇺🇸🙏
@@retiredfirelt586 Nice!! Been through Ocala many times, but usually en route to Disney or kid soccer tournaments in the Orlando/Tampa areas. Hope you are liking it there! I do believe I would!
nobody like the original Lynyrd Skynyrd.I heard this 1st when i was a kid in the 70's and fell in love with them.I probably would have seen the original band in 77 when i was 14 but the plane crashed.

Lynyrd Skynyrd is just a badass band I don’t think they ever had a bad song , they are definitely one of the great ones !

Do you think Silas would emerge unscathed after listening to "Green Grass and HIgh Tides" by The Outlaws?

So good to see young people love the music that I grew up on. I saw the original band 6 times LIVE in Denver in the 1970s
Top three Skynyrd songs IMHO. 😎
Skynard is extremely underrated. Wait until you get into Saturday Night Special, That Smell, or The Hunt
I Love me some Silas! I think you should add Boston's debut album to your list of ones to react to 😀👍
Agree!!
On both of your points
Hey, he actually already did Boston’s entire debut album! Not surprisingly he loved it!
Working for MCA is the best song on Second Helping IMHO but there really ain't no bad songs on it✌😎☮
My fav song of theirs...don't think they ever played it live with the org band.
I love this song!!!!
Best song on the album.

you should check out traffic low spark of a high heeled boy ....lot of jammin!
Hey if you want another great song that starts off with a guitar solo, check out Don't Take Me Alive by Steely Dan.
So underrated
