The Legend of Korra and The Last Airbender are two shows that will live with me. Being there for the premiere and ending of both shows was great. They both left you wanting to know more about the characters.

On the face sure, but KP dropped a ton of Japanese references during its run.
+Enoch Hart A lot of this list seemed entirely American to me. Especially DC animation. Practically their only reasoning behind it being "anime influenced" is the fact that they have dark storylines, as if no American cartoons can be dark without involvement from anime.
+Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tubeman well, that's because that was the case back then. Stuff like transformers and thundercats were made in japan.
for me too. I was never thinking of anime while watching K.P. .. and it is pure american comedy and action... I think :)
+Enoch Hart the comedy was american. anime is a art style most ppl dont see it but most of the action you remember as kids was straight up made in japan. including ducktales,chip n dales, the 90s spider man cartoons, gargoyles, batman beyond, pinky and the brain, and the batman and superman cartoons.
almost all the action shows were made in japan or korea even if they dont have any asian themes in them

Some honorable mentions that I believe should have made the list as well: Totally Spies, American Dragon: Jake Long, Young Justice, Voltron, and Miraculous Ladybug.

The Last Airbender IS SO DAMN GOOD!!! I always rewatch, probably my fave cartoon. Since the list is from 2015 I get why Voltron isn't here, but Totally Spies, Power Puff Girls and The Zeta Project should be at least honorable mentions.

1) West called them Cartoon
2) Japan called them Anime
3) China called them Donghua
4) Korea called them Aeni
5) Philippines called Pinoy
6) Russia called them Multfilm
6) And many more regions in the world have different name for the animation medium.
All the animation medium are same they have just different name based on the regions and have some difference, but they are inspired by each other.
@@thedamntrain Thanks for clearing out. I was wrong about that Russian Animation as you are Russian I take your credibility. As for other terms yes they all are same thing just the different name used on different regions in the end they all are Animation. Anime is not the name of artstyle rather is just the term which is used in Japan define Animation it does not matter whether is it SpongeBob or Dragon Ball Z the Japanese refer all the Animation as Anime. You can ask any Japanese mate if you have doubts about Anime term.
PS: I am going to remove the Soveit Animation from my post as I was wrong and it will bring incorrect information.

As for the second sentence. I agree there should be one name instead of 10 different names to define this animation medium. However, I don't agree with your second sentence. Anime and cartoon should not be named of the art style instead the original term which is used to create the animation should be used. For example: For Anime we can say it the hand drawn animation/animated series as for cartoon there is no one specific style of it. There are different styles of varieties of cartoons. Unlike Japanese Animation which almost used hand drawn animation the western animation studios does not stick to one style they used different style based on the different target audience and budgets, so we cannot really put all the different style in the cartoons as they do not have any one constant art style.

Batman the animated series, it's a brilliant TV show, but it's purely a western animated show. Just because it knew how to use good drama and camera angles does it make it Japanese inspired, or style copied
Those Star Wars: Clone Wars animated movies were so amazing. I love the way they made the commando squad for the clones with different guns, colors, and armor.

I'm early 20s now and when my nieces are watching that new teen titans go show....well...sure it's different,but it accomplishes what it sets out to do. ...do you not know what "influence" means? It doesn't mean to be exactly like anime, just certain elements are drawn from it. The creator of Steven Universe said herself that she had inspiration from Future Boy Conan, Revolutionary Girl Utena, and Sailor Moon. And many scenes are direct references to Akira, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Cowboy Bebop.

Since we are all in quarantine right now and the library is closed, my local library put more stuff on their online database for ebooks so I was able to read a few of them.
