I feel the same exact frustration when fighting 5 stars, they are so tough. Niantic and Capcom are making us all look like fools in public screaming at our phones 😂
17:00 yeah, turns out breaking Anjanath’s head while he’s standing makes him do a counterattack. The only way to keep him from doing it is for him to be knocked down/stunned when you do it
No joke I got stuck on that Paolumu for days, then took out Legiana first try

I almost timed out on my first legiana but I beat it first time but I think that paluomu was everyone’s wall and you can’t convince me other wise even with a sns
@@TLT-mn6smmy wall is Diablos. Paolumu was surprisingly easy for me. Up until Legiana, I kept only using the Girros SNS with paralysis up armor and Tobi’s Artful Dodger + Evade Extender and nothing could really touch me. When I got to Legiana that’s when I started using other weapons and elements

Also the Nosebone has been a hell of a job to get with my light bowgun but once you get the Anja gun,its so worth it.
I thought my gear was up to par when I beat the Anjanath. Then I got my sh*t kicked in by a four-star Great Girros, basically eradicating all of my healing. This was followed by a very tense bout with a four/five-star Great Jagras.
I literally had to dedicate a day to go out and hunt for Anjanath and Rathian just so I could get past the 5 star Paolumu.
Same but with sns 4 star anjanath attack pattern is pretty easy to dodge
Your Paolumu 5* hunt reminded me of how my experience was with Diablos!
Honestly, Anjanah long sword is a must. I struggled before with beating Paulomu, now I beat it so fast, and it's super fun.
This is by far the hardest monster Hunter of all time with all the gatekeeping.
i tried the 5* Paolumu at least a dozen time with the Puki SnS Grad 3 Lvl 5. Best weapon i had, flawless fights still ended with him at 10% ~ 15% health. was actively making me mad as it was not a skill issue, just literally could not get enough DPS. Got lucky and got a Primescale from anjanath, new SnS with fire element. first try with it and he died in under 1 min. the grind to upgrade gear is real.
I love this. I'm the same HR and.... I gotta do this.
Legiana and Rathian are very annoying
Rathian's tail attacks are so hard to dodge because 90% of the time she doubles up on that
Legiana barely gives you time to react with her aerial attacks
Move out the way when she’s getting ready to flip the first time and for the entirety she’s in the air. If she dodges to the side you know you need to dodge bc she’s gonna flip. If she just keeps flying she’s just going to land again.
Use the 1st attack to set up a perfect dodge, you can pretty reasonably control the fight that way
I ended up defeating Pao and Legi with a rank 3 SnS and no potions because I just couldn’t. Get. The. Mats. And I don’t want to pay for the game so I just tried once every half an hour. Rest assured, it was extremely painful. This entire chapter took me a solid 4 days.
I was super lucky going into that paolumu fight with my anjanath farming. Having his helmet and sns made both paolumu and legiana super easy. It does really seem like quicker weapons are OP in this game and there's little point in working on defensive skills when the play is always to not get hit because of the timer
As someone who's been a Greatsword main since I started in MH Tri, and now played every monster Hunter game with it, it simply doesn't feel right in Now. So I understand this. I'd highly recommend giving hammer a try, it's super good and fun in Now. I made the swap once I got all the mats for the Diablos hammer.
I've been using the pukie bow and it was rank 4 for these guys. Wrecks 'em.
Legina is a real roadblock but one that is needed for the pounding Diablos will bring me

Update: Managed to take down the Paolumu but it took SO many attempts and potions. And then came 5 star rathian-
Yeah, I'm waiting until I can get more healing before I do the Paolumu.

I can't wait to see how Josh's Diablos fight goes. I struggled hard on GS against the thing, only clearing it after a whole night of retrying and naturally recovering, as it ohko me even when I'm past the recommended armor rating from full hp if I ever make a mistake and divine blessing does not proc. Still dying to it every now and then. 🤣
tbf if you want to play more risky but pretty rewarding gs is going heroic, because the tcs dmg with heroic is just insane
Legiana came, and I was basically like "I won't even use healing, I'll just try again after I full heal... coz at this point it's just a waste of the very limited healing". I think I got very close one-time, but failed on timer...
Ofcourse that was before I crafted the Rathian weapon, mostly because to me that's the coolest looking LS considering almost all the others look weirdly bony, but didn't realize that was super-effective... wasn't as hard after that, took me maybe 2 tries I think.
Legiana is such a great animal introduced in World.
I've been stuck on that Paolumu as well for about a week now.. hoping for a 4 star anjanath drop to make the fire weapon

I got stuck on that same paolumu with sns. My damage output wasn't enough and so i waited until i got the anjanath material and beat it the first try after like 30 failed attempts throughout half a week.
Ngl, i didn’t have trouble with the Polumu. I’m stuck on the Diablos. I Can deal with it but for me the problem is the time. I feel like the higher you go up you should get at least a few extra seconds to hunt monsters. Legania was hard at first but using fire instead of poison makes the fight much easier. You just need an Anjanath weapon and the Helmet from it and it’s an easy fight. Just dodge the attacks as taking hits isn’t really recommended in this game. Although the first times hunting Legania was with poison damage which made her attack less but the overall damage made the fight much easier
I have been playing with greatsword for majority of this game and it basically need to upgrade the weapon and do dodges instead of shoulder tackles except at the end of monster chain attacks
You can try AR function to see how big monsters are in real world. It’s so cool.
Yeah you never really get the full sense of scale in the games, putting it in the real world really drives home just how huge these beasts are

To be Fair that paolumu is just pain. It took me like numerous Amount of Tries to Finally take it down. I am a Hammer Main but my strongest weapon at the moment was a Kulu Ya Ku Longsword and After learning new Longsword tricks I Defeated it
Also Just to let you all know how much pain I had to go through, I have Zero Potions. I did Upgrade Said Longsword to Tier 4 and I got my Armor upgraded as well but my god
What a Monster that was. And I absolutely Cannot wait to face off against Legiana. Oh The Pain I must face
I feel that, that damn Pauluma took me until I grinded out a fire weapon
Yeah....after I got to Rathian, I refused to use any non-super effective weaponry or non-elemental. Trashed my Poison set for the Anjanath Hammer, then farmed him until I got those Primescales. Needless to say, This game punishes you HARD if you don't follow its directions. Ended up keeping Jagras SnS and made Anjanath Hammer, Legiana SnS, and Tobi-Kadachi Longsword. So long as you follow the flow chart the game demands you to, it's not TOO difficult.
The best thing is that Diablos is weak to ice (the only weakness of him which is available to all weapon types). The others being dragon (not in the game yet) and paralysis (doesn't exist with Longswords). So I felt forced to farm Legiana just to get an ice weapon with which I can bring Diablos down. Was a pain.
Tho Anjanath farming was a bigger pain. These Nosebones drops ffs. I have a decent weapon of all four elements now. I am beating up like 60% of the 6 star monsters. I also take it easier now: crafted myself a light bowgun and just have fun. Doing my dailies everyday, but else: I am not rushing anymore.
Tho I really can recommend rushing the story once as weapon and armor parts start appearing in the dailies then. It is a great long term investment stockpiling on these.
Why doesn't anyone invest in jagras chest. Rising tide gives so much more dps buff than straight attack buff or anj chest spec boost
My big road blocks were 5 star Paolumu and Diablos. As soon as I got the Anjanath hammer I was able to clobber Paolumu and and legiana
Getting kulu primescales is a headache too, most of my weapons and armors are already grade 5 but my kulu helm still at grade 4, searching primescales for kulu sucks
If it makes you feel better.. I fear Ajkanath... much more than Rathian.
And here comes a Paolumu to suck up your potions.

Legiana took me a couple of days. I'm up to diablos and I'm scared to even try
With legiana i always attack the right hind leg by using lock on with anjanaths sword and shield.. And i roll to the left everytime he turns red. Then special attack. Rinse and repeat.
Same tho... I cant get a snout bone and I was so desperate for higher defense that I made the chest armor of anjanath.. which takes 1 snout bone... and a few days later i finally got the second snout bone but i was at 1 bone cause i made the armor. and no scale. rip.
I beat 5* Palumu and Legiana first try after getting the Anjanath weapon
I keep seeing this ever one is trying to play with elemental wep and or having a hard time upgrading there gear! Yes elemental wep are strong but good luck getting all the parts you need for them plus zenny will be a BIG problem if your trying to upgrade more them 1 wep
I think the best way starting out is to just stick with the first raw damage wep the only require ore and small monster parts to craft! Hit all the major ore mining spots ever day to get the dragonet ore! And kill all small monsters! This way you can get 1 good wep with out having to kill monsters!
Lvl it all the way up. then 4 and 5 star monsters are EASY. By this time you should have the story complete! now that you have 1 good wep and can kill 4 and 5 star monsters easy, you can farm them! To get all the monster parts you need to craft all your elemental weps! And in the meantime your all so getting the refined parts from the daily quest witch you will need to stock up on and will need later!
I mean my ore wep in grade 7! I can kill any 4 and 5 star monsters easily with out even trying. I can all so do lvl 6! I can kill them so fast and I kill so many I get all the parts I need easily now!

And this is why I do my urgents at home with my Wifi. Now if Spectrum would get their act together and stop swapping servers or testing or whatever they are doing, I'd have a productive hunt

Guys, I went through 2 rounds with the Legiana, and on the 2nd round, I slayed the ice drake. It turns out you need to fast with your attacks (sword and shield) and need to dodge more

I was able to beat Legiana on my 1st try without being hit once
I had more problems with Paolumu. Maybe 3-4 tries for that one, but I was lucky and poisoned it, as Blooming Blade (poison Great Sword) is my best weapon
Oh, and Legiana is weak to poison, so it was easy
But now I can't even get Legiana anywhere close that I could get to without trespassing...
So I don't think I'll get ice weapon anytime soon to beat Diablos

5 star great girros is no joke
The fact that I can hunt a a dozen Anjanath, cut ALL of their tails, and get 2 Anjanath tails? This game's drop rates are straight disgusting.
Yeah, the five star difficulty spike _sucks_. 3 and 4 star mats are so rare it's easy to get there with a bunch of 2 star gear, and then the game replaces a bunch of spawns with monsters you can't hunt yet...
I feel like, when you've downloaded all assets and the game preloads the monster, the whole fight should be loaded on your phone and connection shouldn't matter but the game is already f*cking up my phone really bad as it is and that would definitely make it worse... also, we totally need blast weapons in this game.
Can't get Anjanath nose bone? I feel that one. I need 2 and it's the only thing keeping me from crafting my weapon

Yeah Legiana is def the most annoying monster in the game. I just went for a Poison weapons to defeat it in the end. Highly recommend doing the same haha u will need the poison weapons for other stuff too

N was able to make rathian and anganath's longsword.. im been hunting them both hard bcz i want them armor before continuin.
Legiana is the easiest monster to kill, she’s just the first real damage check of the game.

Honestly rathian is the worst in this game I struggled so much on her and it makes concerned for pink rathian next week
Also I’m going to assume most of the misters that are gonna be in this game are gonna be from world maybe we’ll get fulgur, Stygian, azure which that guy nobody likes, or even bazel or deviljho. If they add barioth narga or tigrex they’re gonna be annoying as freak in this game
