    As far as the problem with Sean Longstaff is concerned Paul forget about blaming the medical staff. The blame lies solely at the door of Eddie. Firstly, he seems to be very reluctant to give kids a chance unless forced too. Secondly, he does not seem to care about the futures of injured players. I can understand Seans reluctance to refuse to play but he is old enough to realise he will probably lose his place to Tonali anyway. by playing with a sore ankle and an injured foot he is risking his whole career. Well past time that someone got hold of Eddie and read the riot act making him understand the risks he is taking with players careers. Add to that surely itis better to try out kids with promise who might make mistakes than playing with ten men as we seem to be now.

    Longstaff saying he broke his ankle from last season and back within 4 weeks though the physios need sorting out ASAP. Eddie Howe needs looked at as well for playing him with an injury further dampening Shauns career. Play the youngers if needs be. You don't risk an injured player look where it's got us all season, we brought Joe White who plays in midfield back from loan for what reason, he's 21 now surely he should be ready to play? Instead we keep playing injured players

    We had a paper thin squad for the task presented to us this season, we played a lot of games, against better quality opponents and travelled further. Injuries happen and coupled with the compounding above factors it's not hard to see this injury scenario playing out. We are not the first and will not be the last to have an injury crisis.
    We've had half a squad all season and look at where we have been, what we have done. Tour of Europe, 4-1 PSG, 7 games to go and still in contention for Europe. Four years ago and you'd have killed your granny for that.

    It’s like a bloody weekly occurrence of player negligence by medical team/manager. Willock third time with Achilles he seems to be injured more than Callum so it may be time to sell and get more reliable option with good injury record. I think we need a world class keeper once we have money but top class centre half and striker/rw are ahead of that in pecking order for me.

    • @johngreen8996
      @johngreen8996 Месяц назад

      While I agree with you Niall the negligence is purely down to Eddie unfortunately. A statement he made a couple of weeks ago, he admitted that Sean was playing with an injury and having injections. He should not be playing him. Firstly he is asking the team to play with literally ten men. Even a kid without experience would be more use than an injured Sean. Secondly he could possibly be causing more damage to the lad, putting his career in jeopardy. The medical team may be part of the problem, but, Eddie has the last word on who he selects to play. Up to a point the same could be said of Willock. Being honest neither has looked right since their original injuries.
      Eddie, and this seems true since his Bournemouth days doesn't like giving kids a go unless forced to. Miley would have never been seen had circumstances not forced Eddie's hand and he hasn't done too badly.

However, I think you know that if Eddie Howe stopped playing these injured players in our current situation, instead playing youngster and risk losing, many fans would be highly critical. I think this situation is very difficult to manage. I have no doubt that Eddie is trying to make the best decisions for the club. I'm sure everyone (or most) would have understood if Sean was out for the duration of his recovery period and EH had to bring an academy player in. Yes its not ideal and worrying but playing with an injury is never the answer. Come to think of it, this injury was almost a year ago. Think about the development we could have done for that replacement over this time - or even a season long loan of a more experienced midfielder if needed as he was injured before the PL ban on temp loans between clubs with the same ownership

    No excuse for Longstaffs injury. We had options in Willock and Anderson when he was out. So why he’s still being played baffles me

      Willock and Anderson are still coming back from long-term injuries. Willock now broken down again. Only cover on RCM all season was Miley. Howe must have felt that he had no other options with Tonali suspension. He likes his balance in line ups. Sean was fit enogh to ay but not at full pace. Shola was a prime example of aways playing when injured. Some players put team above self even to their detriment

    Why are we playing injured players. A full Root Cause Analysis is required to look at this all the systems involved why injuries occured when they occured what was done timelines etc with root causes and corrective and preventative measures for the future. If Longstaff isnt fit then we are playing with 10 men. Agree we should play a youngster who is at least fit he cannot do worse than an unfit Longstaff and the way he has been playing. I would also be worried about Nick Pope as his shoulder has gone twice now and it could go again. I think we need a good second keeper possible to compete or replace Pope but should be looking at better than this guy. Assan Ouédraogo I mentioned I think it was a transfer show during the Jan transfer player as a player we should go for the future. If we got him I can see the next midfield being developed around him Miley and Harrison. If I have understood the current uefa rules he could count as a club produced player If he's here for the next 3 seasons

    Sean Longstaff hasn't been fit since he was 10 year old. The smell of victimhood. Don't believe it unlike you I wasn't a fan of Longstaff even at his best . Too many excuses from people always saying did the dirty work no he went missing but other midfielders picked up the slack when big Joe, willock and Bruno were there. When they aren't there it's glaring he struggles every game.
