    Dear prof I need your advice, I completed PhD in physics from NIT trichy in 2023. I got placed now in VIT starting in June 2024. Do you think I should do a postdoc abroad if I get an opportunity in the future? or continue here to get experience? Which is more worthy for a better future? (I saw my competitors were foreign post docs return in interview) pls help

      If you have got a faculty position as an assistant professor then there is typically no need to do a postdoc as you can grow in this job. You could go for a sabbatical later.

      You can apply for industry jobs from job sites like indeed.com and others. You should be able to get an industry job more easily after a masters degree as compared with after a PhD. This video may help

    Sir, if someone gets a PhD admit in one of the universities of an European country like Switzerland but wants to get a better PhD admit, how long does the university allow that person to wait?

    • @Drganguli
      @Drganguli  4 месяца назад

      Well, each admission is separate and therefore the procedure is to get a few admissions and then decide on which one to join. You can ask them that you need some more time to make a decision as you are waiting for other offers. In most cases the university asks you to accept the offer in a month or two so they can process other things. In case you don’t join it is good to inform the university so they can give the position to the next candidate

      @@Drganguli Sir, if I get the first offer in January next year, can I keep them waiting till June? Do they usually permit us to wait for such a long time?

    • @Drganguli
      @Drganguli  4 месяца назад

      @@Nirgudduo Typically people will accept this offer by the given date. If they get a better offer in future they can accept that new offer and inform the earlier university politely that they are unable to join.
