This is a poor video. never apply a tourniquet under the elbow or knee. there are 2 bones in the lower arm and lower leg, if tightened correctly you could fracture the bones.
That’s a myth. It takes far more pressure to fracture bones than it does to occlude arteries. Even if it did fracture bones-which is extremely unlikely-an uncontrolled arterial bleed takes priority over a bone fracture, every time. “Life over limb” applies to tourniquets because they generally cause underlying tissue damage but that damage is less than death from bleeding out.
