    I have a 3blade 21p. I need a better holeshot for pulling tubers/skiers. Should i drop down to a 19p (3 blade). Or buy a 4 blade 21p. ???

If you pulling tubers and skiiers it sounds like you need your boat to plane faster, i would go 4 blade

I have a 20' Trophy that I go out thru the golden gate after salmon. I went from an aluminum to a SS 4 blade prop. Best thing I could have done. Like knobby tires, it gets traction against that river of incoming current. Big difference. Instills confidence that you will get out there.

Thank you! Would you recommend going down a pitch or two when upgrading from 3 to 4 blades?

I have a 24ft Pontoon boat with a Suzuki 200hp for power. When I am pulling the kids on the tube, when I turn sharp "left" the motor/prop sounds like it is cavitating. In this situation might a four blade be a better option?

Thanks for the explanation. I wonder how this would relate to wind turbines.

How about slow speeds? I live on a river with decent current with a three prop on a 25 foot tritune. Pulling up to dock, or in the boatlift can be rather challenging sometimes. Wind can also play a factor. But the boat is not very reactive when turning at idle speeds. Would a four prop help this?
I owned a 26 foot chaparral with a bravo three. That thing was like driving a car compared to this box of a boat. I can’t seem to find anyone to answer this question. Thank you

Also cavitation when cornering is less with the 4 blade

Hello! Do you think a 4 propellor blade will pull a wakeboarder faster/stronger out of the water?
Example: pulling a person of 65kg out of water is no issue. When trying with a person of 80kg it has not enough power.

Thanks for taking the time to your share your video and knowledge with us.
    It is really appreciated!
I have a 5 mtr. RIB with (x2) 40 hp Enduro outboard motors
    (5500- 6000 rpm. max.), both have three blade props 11 3/8 x 12.
The Boats max load capacity is 1 ton and although I am no
way any where near that at all, it seems slightly heavy at the
transom, once she is loaded up with dive gear, since it is very sluggish,
to get up on the plane.
I am looking to increase the power, for towing applications, as
we are doing small salvage operations.
From what you were saying, it seems that a 4 Blade prop is the
way to go, but I have not seen any for this size of motor.
    Do you have any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Kind Regards!

I've got a 4.5m aluminum boat, with a 50hp Evinrude in the back. It currently had a 15 pitch 3 blade. It was very difficult to turn left and right in the water
Will going down to a 13 pitch 4 blade make it Abit easier to steer my boat
(Yes I understand triming engine ect. Doesn't help)

I have a 14 foot John boat w a 20 hp merc 4 stroke. I just installed a on the fly Jack plate on it to run shallow water. Will a 4 blade have less cavitation ( sucking air)?😊

How does a propeller perform on a boat when you put a hydrophobic coating on it? Would it perform better, or worse? And for comparison, how about a hydrophilic coating?

This settles it. I'm getting a 4 blade prop.
My use case is slow tubing with the little kids.
My current 3 blade likes to cavitate with too much power and when turning.
It would be awesome to be able to keep plane at a slower speed too (for the little kids on the tube).

I need a 4 blade on my proline for Lake Michigan. You are rarely running top speed and you need it to carry a load of gear and ppl

Im new to the boat world. Just bought a maxum 1800sr and the previous owner told me that with certain pitch props you have to keep the engine below a certain rpm to keep from damaging the engine. So my boat has a 17 pitch prop and he told me not to take it over 4600 rpm. Can someone explain to me why this is. Thanks

You want your motor to have the ability to hit top speed in a sweet spot, well below redline, too much prop, and you have the motor under too much load, too little prop, you hit redline and damage your motor.

My boat's heavy with full floors three batteries a fridge and my fat ass in it. I went to a four blade and it picks up out of the water effortlessly but has less top speed.
