I drove to the national world war 2 museum in New Orleans to buy COBI LEGO Knock Offs and check out an insane LEGO D-Day Moc that features an insane lego beach invasion vs a beach defense. I also show off some custom LEGO WW2 Minifigures and some LEGO Minifigure lots I saw at the flea market :D

COBI isnt a LEGO knock-off. Its a Polish company that stared producing bricks back in 90s. They were sued by LEGO but they won. COBI does really great militairy sets in scales and its always improving on quality wich actually comparable to LEGO quality. I guess the figures just may look a bit uncanny to LEGO fans due to different way they look.

    • @tomirexthereal

Saw on a Cobi stream once the owner said they wanted to change the figures anyways so Lego literally just wasted money with that lawsuit

@@tomirextherealappearently the older cobi minifigs were just lego minifig copies with 3d noses. If im not wrong cobi changed the minifig when lego won a lawsuit against another company that did the same thing, so cobi avoided the old design to evade legal action

I am sick of people calling Cobi "knock off Lego" and "fake". They are running a legitimate business and are a competitor to Lego. In no way, shape or form do they try to pass off their goods as Lego items. As long as they are not directly copying the design of Lego sets they can do whatever they want.
Lego don't have a monopoly on the plastic bricks market. Calling Cobi "fake" is like calling Pepsi "fake Coke", Burger King "fake McDonalds" or Playstation a "fake Nintendo".

I’ll say that the most interesting/favorite battle of WA 2 was one of the side battles at Larry Gulf. It was when the Japanese were trying to out flank the US, and one of these flanks were guarded by US Battleships, and the interesting part about it was that the battleships that the US had there were originally from Pearl Harbor, and ,the ironic part about it all was that while the Japanese had damaged or sunk some of the ships that were now facing them, these ships now had the golden opportunity to return the favor

  • @tomirexthereal

The reason its 15 bucks is because you're in a museum shop in America. Cobi is (as of yet, it's growing fast) still a company that makes everything in Poland, which means that they can't really make it affordable for Americans. Even if they did, museums charge a lot more even in Europe than Cobi does. It's not really worth it to buy Cobi outside of Poland, Poland's neighbour states and the UK because shipping and a lack of shops which sell Cobi sets at a normal price. For example, Germany has a lot of shops which sell Cobi and they are way better than buying it on their website. Other than ordering on amazon (which I think would still cost extra) American consumers aren't really the demographic Cobi is selling to

One of the most interesting, and weirdest battles, has to be Operation Cottage. It was an invasion by the U.S and Canada of an island in the Pacific , believed to be held by the Japanese. Unknown to the Allied troops, Japan had abandoned and set traps all over the island. The U.S landed on one side and Canada landed on the other side of the island. When the two countries met each other, they started fighting, believing that they were fighting the Japanese. Eventually they found out they were fighting each other. But the damage wss already done. Around 300allied soldiers would be killed to friendly fire and booby-traps.

    fun fact about Omaha beach.
the most popular depiction, is from saving pvt ryan, witch is very realistic but not accurate.
the biggest inaccuracies are (there were no towering bunkers, the beach was not short it was 300 yards long, most of the US troops were killed by artillery, the boats fit 30 people / not 20, the boat drivers were all British, the shingle was brick and concrete not sand , there were only two rows of x shaped tank traps and that was far up the beach, and last but not least / the Americans stayed in the water for a long time moving up slowly with the tide. My favorite is one not many have heard of it is the battles of Attu and Kiska in the Allution islands. My grandpa fought in it and that might be one of the reasons why I like it. I don't know why I like it I just do it was super cool the only WWII battle fought on U.S. soil! It was where the Japanese tried to get one over on the U.S. by going to the Islands, then all the Japanese, DISAPPEARED! No one knows, even today, what happend.

The most interesting battle of world War 2 was the battle of kursk, I don't really have an explanation, but I just kind of like it.
