Thank you for fixing this duel-it really irritates me how people call it "peak" when it's so messed up. I’ve rewatched this duel over 100 times now, and my biggest issue is the structure of the duels. For example, on turn 3, Kite only had one card, while Mizel had far more resources on his next two turns. To me, the duel felt like a competition to see who could brick first and who had advantages faster. Heck, Kite even had four different variations of draw mechanics to stall until his monster came back, but when the writers saw how much they needed to wrap up the show, especially with Zexal's reception being either mixed or below average, they decided to just say, "meh," and left it like that. I feel like the writers gave up because they didn’t know what to do with Kite anymore. Killing him was fine, but bringing him back with that Dragon Ball rip-off was not the way to go.
Yeah, I can definitely understand your criticism. I still like the anime version of the duel, partly because of the epic setting and the great animations. But after rewatching this duel and other Kaito duels a couple of times on Yoshi's channel, I definitely agree that the duel between the two could have been much better. The fact that he didn't use Overlay Booster's effect in his third turn still irritates me, lol. I also have the feeling that the Zexal writers were unsure what to do with Kaito after Zexal Part 1. He hardly had any personal goals of his own in the second half of the series. Even his rivalry with Mizael, the latter seemed more like the driving force behind it while Kaito seemed less invested in it. Anyway, thank you for sharing your thoughts!
