I am going through the getting married, having kids thing right now and I look at my bike in the corner of the garage and it’s making me sad not having time to ride!! Nice CB
Ive got the same bike, (color too) ~10000mi.. mine had the same primary clatter, it also had an oil leak at the head gasket (lousy aftermarket head gasket) so I gave it the full rebuild on the coffee table in my apartment including a new primary chain. Its a task, but mine is now silent at idle, I did not have any helpful words of wisdom telling me that noise was not hurting anything so I went full preventative mode, I will say I did not see where anything was getting beat up by the chain slap, so the "run it like it is" wisdom is probably not too far off base. Its a sweet bike and a lot of fun to really wring out when I don't want to go straight to jail! Lately it has been the wife's steed, she really likes the style and friendly nature over my other motorcycles.
I'm a little jealous of that cold start. I have to hold the throttle and turn it just a hair on my CB750 to keep the idle around 1000 rpms until she's warmed up. If I let go she'll cut out on me. She'll start right back up, but it'd be nice if I didn't have to worry about keeping a hand on the throttle the first few minutes. Once I drive a few blocks she's fine and idling steady at 1200rpms.
she used to be REALLY cold natured, but a very thorough job cleaning the carbs, and a electronic ignition upgrade have done wonders for her! although now that the temps have fallen to chilly weather, she does like a little more choke than shown here. I still need to sync the carbs, and at some point, find myself a decent muffler! Some thrill seeker chiseled the end out of it haha. Thank you for watching! :)
Nothing wrong with that CB! Good in-town bike...just needs a chrome rear rack. I was looking to restore a 70's inline four Honda CB 750 or Kawaski 900/1000, but took the easy way out and bought a retro-style '14 Honda CB1100 for riding around town. Keep enjoying that cool cycle.
Hello mate, Yes that's the primary chain clattering around but I wouldn't worry about it. They are always noisy at low idle as there is no tensioner on these engines (unlike the 750's which have a spring loaded wheel applying tension to their primaries). The 350 just has two short rubberized pads that run either side of the primary chain to prevent it from contacting the upper and lower cases. Once off idle, they're quiet. Your engine sounds very healthy and appears quiet in the overhead gear, so in my view it's perfect. I'd leave it alone and just enjoy riding it, cheers.
Hey wow, just saw you in one of Coldwarmotors videos! I've been watching Scott for a couple years now! One of my favorite channels on youtube :) How awesome to see you on there!
@@HamiltonMechanical Yes, I had a brilliant time - great to hang out with like-minded guys... loads of cars, great company and not an idiot anywhere to be found haha, cheers.
Thats so damn cool man. A 350cc with four cylinders wow. If you get her restored she could be worth a fair bit I imagine. 45 years old.. Thats amazing
