Eco India: How can construction waste come handy when building sustainably?

  • Build, demolish, repeat. It’s a cycle that generates mountains of debris around the world - debris that ends up in landfills - or worse, in the environment. That material actually harbors great recycling potential. India still only reuses a meagre one percent of its construction and demolition waste. Our reporter hit the streets of Delhi to find out why.

    Such type of plant should be started in mumbai & thane also

      There is one in Thane already. And for many many years the tender for a Mumbai recycling plant has been out. The conditions of the tender are however unsuitable for most plant operators (one such condition being owning the land in Mumbai) which is why it hasn’t happened till now.

    Spray something very traceable on the building being torn down. If it doesn’t come to the depot, you can find it and fine them
