The third and final day was time for me to return home so as usual, I worked east along the Pittsburgh Line to Harrisburg, PA before ending this nice and relaxing long weekend of railfanning. First though, I stayed in the immediate area to see some morning action include the Lehigh Valley Heritage unit leading the loaded trash train. Also for the first time I have seen westbound trains using track 1 (the closest track while standing on the viewing platform at the railroad park in Cresson, PA) - made possible by a project performed back in 2019 to make tracks 1 & 3 bi-directional between Altoona, PA & South Fork, PA (CP-SO) (used to be track 1 running only eastbounds, track 3 running only westbounds).
Working along the rail line east means that westbound traffic reigns supreme while eastbounds occur every once in a while (eastbound traffic is heavier later in the evening, throughout the night and into the morning hours).
Anyway, I wrapped up the day in Macungie, PA on NS Reading Line with a bonus train while packing up the equipment. Overall a great long weekend!
