  • Tom Bihn Synapse Review - Ultimate Daypack
In this video, I review the Synapse 25 from Tom Bihn. The Synapse is a Holy Grail Backpack for me and is my favorite Daypack I've ever used.

I have the same bag in black halcyon and I love it. It carries so much and carries it well. In my opinion, it’s very light as well - under 2 lbs.!!! The construction is top notch and I expect it to last forever. Nice review!

Great review. If you're ever in Seattle you can visit the Tom Bihn showroom and actually see the bags being made. The chatter of 30 or so sewing machines working away is a pleasant backdrop while trying different bags out.
I use the Aeronaut 45 for my carry-on and a Medium Cafe bag for my personal item, which I've enjoyed for carrying a camera and small items around a city. A light packable 20l backpack sometimes comes along if I think i'll need more for a day hike.

@@pieonthetrail I have yet to fly anywhere for more than a few weeks so your needs may be greater than mine. If I need to check a bag I have a larger roll-top bag that I use and I carry the Aeronaut. It's not ideal, but I've never found wheeled luggage comfortable to manage so I stick to backpacks and things I can carry. I would be interested in hearing about your choice of wheeled luggage though.

thx bro for the review. If you could do more hiking videos of yourself on the trail that would be pretty dope.

Great, thoughtful, in-depth review. However in a couple areas you didn't capture the full utility of the particular feature. The internal frame adds more than just structure to the bag: it has an adjustable curvature which can fit to the unique bend of someone's spine. Some find this makes the bag more comfortable to carry for distances. The O rings also do more than just connect key straps: they attach the multi various organizer pouches TB has which gives your bag even more personalized organization. And the fact that they are spread out generously throughout the bag gives one even more options to organize the pouches in any way that works best. And being that the 25 was a bit too small for you did you consider the Brain Bag?

Beats the bag I've got! I've been thinking it might be cool to join up on the PCT for a couple of days, btw.

Great review. Good to hear some criticism of a Tom bihn bag. Every review just lists the good.
Also what is the brand for that burgundy button down shirt you are wearing in some of the video clips you used?

If every review just list the good maybe that should tell you something about how good their bags are

@@pieonthetrail I own a s19 myself, I love Tom bihn and would recommend them for anyone looking. Just nice to see people look critically at a bag. That's how the next great redesigns come about
