Thank you, Mr. Kaufmann, and all the artists who have brought all of those heartwrenchingly beautiful operettas and waltzes full of life force back to the world! I was fortunate to be brought up on them and they have kept me going through some very though times. (As has the ballet). I am so happy that new generations are now experiencing those magnificent melodies. I don't know if Mr. Kaufmann has sung arias from "Der Zarewitsch," but that is also one of Lehar's best operettas. "Es steht ein Soldat am Wolgastrand" has some very touching lyrics. I recommend watching it.

First heard him in Zürich, where my husband wanted to hear Edith Mathis, but half way through I asked who on earth is this tenor?? And now we know & wish him long life to him & his family. My husband has died, know that’s terrible for everybody, but listening to Jonas Kaufmann every day helps to stay standing,
