I ended up really enjoying this! It was interesting to see the earlier years of Elizabeth I for a change - hope there's a season 2. I felt sorry for her and Robert because they were more victims of the "game" of the court politics than anything else.

I wish someone would make a miniseries of Elizabeth's life based on the novel "Legacy" by Susan Kaye. An engrossing book that I read over 30 years ago and still consider it one of the best depictions of her life from childhood until her death. The epilogue is unforgettable!
