For anyone interested, if you go beyond 100% chameleon and then revert back to 100%, you will gain the blur effect that allows you to see your character. NPCs still can not detect you. At least, that's how it worked back in the day, IDK. Just equipt 100% gear and cast chameleon on self for 1 second. Doesn't accomplish anything other than personal visual preference.

I used to do this a lot, back in 2006. Enchant any five items (rings, necklaces, tunics, armors, etc.) with 20% chameleon each, which can be done at the Arcane University & then have fun!

Do you know what is better than 100% chameleon?
100% reflect damage with 100% spell absorbation.
The only sources of damage that can kill the player are arrows, reflected damage and gravity.
that's the problem: you have to get the guards into melee range at all times, otherwise the gimmick is useless. 100 % chameleon is way less of a bother since nobody will ever attack you.
