Ahti the janitor is a friendly face in my book
The janitor was a bit out there, but still a friendly face!
Better that than no face at all!
Not to spoil the effect, but I wonder how many people would pick up on these being quotes rather than just random thoughts 😄
@@roopesaarinen7659 think about it; no face!
Am I a friendly face? :)
There is something about this game that reaches through my soul and I don't know what it is.............

Beautiful

@@-whatisgoingon não é a versão completa, né?
This guy is creepy keeping pop different places.
😦
Ahti is my favourite character in both control and alan wake 2, he's clearly a paranatural entity but there's something about his character that brought comfort and focus to me as a player when i was st my most freaked out or lost in both games, he looks out for jesse, alan and saga in his own way and none of them woukd have probably acheived their goals without his aid
Yea.. It's easy to feel safe around him even when the whole world is falling apart.
In Finnish folklore there's 2 characters that both go by the name Ahti I believe. One was a God of the sea and the other a Hero. The way he talks about water, there could be credence to him being a bigger entity than anticipated.
i feel like Ahti is some sort of greater power kinda like Mr Door i hope we get to see this universe continue to be built on
@@michaelcreech8957mr door is definitely something… but he’s also heavily implied to also jsut be human… a parautilitarian human for sure. Since he is Sagas dad.
same with rose and cynthia
Ahti feels like an old god who got bored and just casually slip himself into stories to immerse himself in something new, a friendly janitor
Holy shit. He actually does the pose. I just thought it was a clever thumbnail. I swear I keep finding the tiniest details like this in this darned game! Sam Lake is a fucking genius!
i'm a simple man i see ahti i press like
Finnish is such a beautiful language
Did you have piss in your sock? - Ahti
His singing makes me feel relaxed
I love how this story about creativity and fears inspires all that creativity from people
that's a pretty cool way to look at it 😄
And another note about that pose it's just *so* powerful it is a perfect representation of Alans pent up anger and rage he felt/feels
Wow, I like how you put Ahti on Alan in same pose... cool!
yeah I think it was definitely intentional from the devs/writers :)
Ahti knows what he's posing as... since it happens right when the lyrics hits 'He has come, It has come'.. suggesting Scratch haunting Alice (or even coming back from the Lake to our world)
@@-whatisgoingon i'd never caught that detail until this video, and I agree that is too perfect to be a coincidence. great catch and great video!
Alan, Saga, Jesse, all Remedy characters are great, but Ahti is the one who connects all of them.
My man forgot Casey/Max Payne
@@krellio9006 true, Casey/Payne are great as well!
Ahti is played by an Finnish actor Martti Suosalo. He is one of those blue-and-white Finnish actors who is to be remembered...
He also played in Talvisota, which is arguably one of the best Finnish war movie
The lyrics in finnish:
Kuin painajainen, hän luoksesi saapuu
Hänet verhottu on varjojen kaapuun
Monta tarinaa hänest kerrotaan
Häntä pakoon et pääse sä milloinkaan
Hän peilistä sua tuijottaa
Murhan polte, se kruunu leimuaa
Tuon katseen tunnet, et voi unohtaa
Vaik' kasvot piiloutuu veriverhon taa
On yötön yö
Se järjen syö
On yötön yö
Se miehen syö
Puukkohippaan tanssi pian vaihtuu
Irveen päätyy jo verinen suu
Viinapullosta korkki hukataan
Tupen rapinan vaan kuulee korvissaan
On yötön yö
Se valon syö
On yötön yö
Se toivon syö
On yötön yö
Se rakkaan syö
On yötön yö
Se kaiken syö
Monin nimin häntä kuultu on kutsuttavan
Niin kuin kiroaa kuolemaa Kuoleman
Rukoilee synkkien myyttien jumalaa
Vihtahousua, Saatanaa, Vapahtajaa
Musta pilvi päässä kiehuu
Ulos räjähtää ja yössä riehuu
Silmissään riemu rajaton
Hän tullut on
Se tullut on
Kaivon pohjalle ruumiskasaan
Tästä yöstä ei selviä kukaan
Synkäs huoneessaan kirjoittaen
Onkii houreistaan sinut säkeeseen
Hän peilistä sua tuijottaa
Murhan polte, se kruunu leimuaa
Tuon katseen tunnet, et voi unohtaa
Vaik' kasvot piiloutuu veriverhon taa
On yötön yö
Se sielun syö
On yötön yö
Se sinut syö
Thank you! I'll see if i can add it to the video as a subtitle.
A fuckin' masterpiece. Thank you for the overlay. I would've never noticed Ahti's *amazing posture* during the "HE HAS COME, IT HAS COME" segment.
Ahti has to be some sort of god or god-like entity. The way he "escaped" the building in Control because he felt like a vacation just reinforces the fact for me. Also he was somehow just in the area during such a massive AWE. Either way he's just such a great character.
Yeah, in Control, there is good evidence of him being, at least para-natural and, at times, straight-up omniscient. His name being the name of the Finnish God of the Sea, and his connection with water/mopping is also very suggestive. In addition, I think his 'vacation to Watery'(iirc the postcard Jessie gets in Control once we finish all of Ahti's side missions suggests that he is in fact visiting Watery for vacation..) was just so that he can play some part in the mess that was about to happen there(and in Bright Falls).
minor Final Draft spoiler below.....
There is also a new manuscript page in the Final Draft mode called "It's Not a Lake" which describes an impossibly large Ahti taking water from the cauldron lake in his bucket and pouring it over the attic floor (alluding to all the janitor bucket instances where players could switch between Alan and Saga, or more precisely between Dark Place and the 'real' world).. seemingly playing a part in facilitating some aspect of the story(since we have to remember Alan/Scratch must have written the pages.. in turn orchestrating Ahti to do it in the first place? He also mentions to 'Tom'/Alan that "the work will instruct its Maker" when we ask him for help the first time we meet him in the Talk Show Studio-> may be referring to the fact that this part he is playing is written in by Alan..)
but yeah, regardless of all that lore he is an extremely likable character😄, just makes him cooler that he is seemingly so powerful
he went to Watery because Ahti is friend of the Old Gods of Asgards, and he appears confused in the residence because he didnt deserve to stay in Watery, it's part of history because Alan Wake incorporated Ahti into it. @@-whatisgoingon
@@-whatisgoingon Regarding some of his weird sounding advice it's all Finnish proverbs that are deliberately directly translated in a way that they don't always make sense or convey the original meaning in English. "The work instructs its maker" is directly translated from "työ tekijäänsä opettaa" which basically just means learning by doing.
Water goes where it needs to throughout the Remedyverse…and Ahti is there to clean it up.
Also this is wonderful edit of the video. Love what you did with Ahti and Alan/Scratch layered in the similar pose.
Water is the oldest balm.. Water finds its way.. What water brings, it takes away!
@@-whatisgoingon that’s what I said Tom!
such a crime that this banger isn't on spotify
I swear it was when i made this, but then they took it down for some reason :'(

I don't look at Alan Wake franchise as a video game franhise. It's the mona lisa of* video gaming as an expression of art. Everything else falls short. It's not a perfect video game. But it's a perfect video game.
I couldn’t agree more. Iv been gaming for so very long but I feel like it’s almost disrespectful to call AW2 a game because of how much artistic skill is present. I’d just call it art.
Amazing edit. This is the trailer for a noir art house movie that I would love to see. But we were lucky that we can not only watch it but to play it too.
This video edit was so dope man. Would love to see you cook up some other shiit
Absolutely beautifully edited with the overlaid and intercut scenes! And I love this song.
I love the song too 😄. I made this mostly so that I can listen to it without searching on RUclips 😁
Ahti is simply the mvp
Alan realized the dark place had consumed him, as a result consuming so much back in the real world. We all have a “Dark Place”, and it distracts us from what’s important in our lives. It’s our job to find our own Ahtis, our own lights in the dark. Never give in to your Dark Place, and remember you never have to do it alone. If you can’t find a light, do your best to be your own light, shining through the darkness trying to consume you. That’s what Alan Wake 2 taught me. Thank you Sam Lake.
*Thank you* for your kind and insightful thoughts!
Oh is that the endless song that never ends… I love it
As someone with a severe pain condition(s), "I had this dark place in my mind so long, sometimes I'd forgotten the pain was there." Hit me like a ton of bricks.
That aside, that was some awesome editing! Merging Ahti and Alan/Scratch in the doorway! That was SO GOOD.
Sorry to hear that..
If you haven't played them, the original Max Payne games might be relatable and somewhat enjoyable for you. Alex Casey channels a ton of Max Payne's energy. We get a lot of writing(inner monologues of Max Payne) very similar to what we hear from Casey.
@@-whatisgoingon Not to say the motion capture actor for both characters is no other than Sam Lake himself. 😊
I `m too old for this/these Remedy -games mutta aika hyvä välieditti joka sopi lauluun: nice edit in the middle and perfectly matched the song. Ahti (Martti Suosalo) always delivers.
...have to admit; this song is brilliant over and over again. For some reason family do not get it why I have this as a wake up tune 😂.
@@Finland-SkiTeam39-40 Yeah, I listen to it at least a couple of times a day.. I don't know why but even though it's a dark song; there is something soft and comforting about the way he sings it and how its composed..
And Casey's monologue also fits well with the theme of the song so i was glad when i could fit it in the middle like that😄
"This is a nightmare, a loop, a never ending story that always lead to nothingness..."

"OMH AHTI HIIIIII!!"
The scenes overlapping at 2:56 is just perfect
Literally can't wait for Alan Wake 2 DLCs and Control 2, and hoping to see and know more about this great character.
Remedy never disappoint.
Maybe it would be better to move the lyrics under the video subtitles, because it would enable switching them to Finnish, but anyway, it's a great video, thank you!
ah yea sounds better.. i made this on a whim and wasn't thinking of that 😅
Thank you for this!
I recently started loving Finnish singing and this is one of my favorites... more people should play Alan Wake 2, just to experience hearing this song for the first time in game
The songs in this game are all 10/10
They are! Herald of Darkness, Anger's Remorse, Dark Ocean Summoning, Follow You Into The Dark are all awesome!
And also I'm making another video with the catchy song from Night Springs DLC. Hope you check it out when it is out :)

Ahti is the true MVP
Incredible editing! Especially the part that matches Ahti with Scratch and they have the same pose.

This edit is actually incredible.
Yeah, especially the part with ALEX Casey.
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!!
The shadow of alan over ahti gave me goosebumbs, gotta say
How has no one pointed out he's doing the Hanged man taro card pose when he falls dead
wow interesting. I never saw it till now
guys, Ahti is the best, in'nt he?
this is awesome!
0:24 is that from the game?
yeah.. Its from a short film that you can miss if you move away from the area before it starts playing
spoilers below.....
In Poet's Cinema area, after you have finished the area and seen Saga in the overlap, you return to the cinema screen area, and if you stick around a ~20 minute short film called Yötön Yö plays. And the clip is from said film. It was supposedly the lost work of Thomas Seine the filmmaker
What is it, Ahti? Something seems to trouble you.....
Ahti my beloved
I wanna know finish xD
I wish I could give 100 likes to this.... it's perfect
Thank you 😊
Spotify já!
Hopefully it's included in the official OSTs they are releasing soon
@@-whatisgoingon it is! ❤
Great edit!
Also, thank you for adding Finnish subtitles. I'm trying to learn this song and it's the only video I've found with the subtitles and good volume!
I would have my arm cut off for black metal cover of this song with Ahti singing chorus... Love this song 🥰
