What a pleasure to watch! Of course there's a lot of prep we didn't see, but still this final assembly of major bits is VERY impressive, so thank you Dave for sharing with all of us!! I started a complete frame-up resoration of my trusty old 109 in about 1996 ... and it's still sitting in my garden about 60% complete now in 2016 ... dang!! So now I'm going to see if I can start again with it, or else if it's going to become just another pot in the garden in which to grow weeds. (*grand sigh*)
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Turned over my 300tdi and made a bit of a mess. Need this man for inspiration ... so if you are passing by New Zealand a cuppa awaits!!! John
Thank you for sharing this very nice build video of the Land Rover Defender 90 with us. Simply genius, and geniusly simple, that is what you want a pure off roader with on road capacity to be. The Land Rover Defender and the Toyota Land Cruiser 40 are the best of this rare breed. Cheers.
+Igor K I am currently rebuilding my 25 yr old 90 on a galv chassis- this post has inspired me to capture it in time lapse too- I suggest you don't bother watching it. Its of no interest to you, and seems to encourage you to talk shite
Very impressive indeed. And quite educating and entertaining too. I guess you spended the next day fitting all the rest: Driveshafts, shockabsobers, wireing, interior etc. ? :-) But still quite impressive
What is it about coiler-era Land-rovers? Where no matter how you try, they look a bit mincing, and that's without the 'required' big-wheels and chequer-plate. Even before they get the snorkel, most end up looking like they fell off a fairground roundabout.
Hi, Well done it really came out nice. Just a small question how is the chain block attached to the supporting stands please. is it possible to send a photo. Cheers and thanks in advance.
what size tires are they?..I am swapping my 18" from my 03 Disco for a set of 16's, you seem to be the expert, will there be any clearance issues with my calipers?...thanks for the vid..great build, cant wait till see it when shes finished
A brilliant video, i'd love to be able to do something like this myself but I have to ask.....why would you go to all of that trouble without painting the gearbox and engine and tidying them up a bit? It seems a waste.
Somebody got a new lego kit for Christmas :-D lol, only thing I'd say though, is I know impact guns are good but I prefer to finish bolts of by hand with bar, so you get the 'feel' of how tight they are, great job though, how many times have you fone this before?
Nice work, love you’re Video! I am considering rebuilding a defender 90 TDI myself, the problem is the entire under construction ( in your video shown in white at the beginning) is totally rusted and cannot be restored. Can one replace it with the under construction of a defender with the steering wheel on the left side. The one I want to restore has it on the right? To me it seems like it doesnt make a difference or? Thx for your help!
I was on my moms phone I think 1 when I was 4 years old and I saw this vid lol, now I’m 14 and love land rovers especially puma defenders, l663’s, l320’s, l322’s, p38’s and rrc’s Edit: also forgot to add d2’s and lr4’s
Hello please can I receive or can you sent to me the link where is possible to buy all component to built a Defender like yours..??? Thanks so much Leo
You know what you're doing !! I don't think you need any tips from armchair mechanics on here. Nice tidy work area at all times, I bet you don't get paid enough in your day job.

Did you ever finish the 109?
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Turned over my 300tdi and made a bit of a mess. Need this man for inspiration ... so if you are passing by New Zealand a cuppa awaits!!! John

@player2756 Odd hours in the eveings after work over the following 2 weeks when weather allowed
Was this a kit or a ground up restoration with refurbished parts? I see the engine and transmission weren't new but everything else looked it.
