    The proper install requires the rubber gasket to be below the deflector.

    Nice quality control, ATR. The guy does in the install wrong. The plastic tabs go under the rubber seal. Read the instructions, they might help.

    Looks like I'm not the only one who realized the weather stripping goes over the deflector.

    I just purchased the Weathertech bug & stone shield for installation on my 2021 RAM 1500. The installation sheet that came with the shield clearly says to install the shield flanges UNDER the rubber seal, not on top of the seal.

    Couple notes since I just recently installed it. The tabs go under the rubber weather gasket seal for a proper installation, it's probably better to stick the protective rubber buttons on the deflector itself and not directly to the hood, also you're almost guaranteed to break the factory clips so don't expect to save them.

      Thanks for the tips sir. I was thinking that sticking the tabs on the deflector itself would work. My deflector will be installed for road trips only, so it would come off while I'm home.

      How tight do those clips with the Phillips head get, mine still turn, I don’t want to break them??

    • @thatevoguy192
      @thatevoguy192 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@jamescook2290 you want to make sure they are grabbing on the back end so mine eventually stopped when properly bottomed but they do kind of feel as though it would be easy to over do them. If any of the screws are spinning effortlessly then something is probably wrong. I found using a decent amount of pressure and a very low speed drill and swapping some screws around to different locations helped. Wish it wasn't this way but I eventually got them all snug enough to feel comfortable with it on the road. I hope this helps.

    just bought basically ther same bug guard from Enthuze on amazon for $103, i would have also placed the little 4 clear tabs directly to the bug guard between it and the hood NOT to the hood itself.
    ya a few other thing about the installation, single piece of paper instructions and the comment section here making installation a tad... not straight forward.
    Gotta hand it to the creators though, 2 years later, nearly every comment telling them their doing it wrong and they haven't re-shot it. lol =D
    This video did help a bit though. =)

    The bug guard tabs go underneath the rubber hood molding, not over it. Incorrect installation here.

      Exactly what I was thinking brother. Plus I would much rather stick those little clear dots on the deflector itself. I hate sticking anything to the paint of my vehicles.

    Wondering how a car wash will effect them since flaps rotating or shaming the hood area!

    Easy 10 minute install if you do it and dont follow instructions. It says to install the shield UNDER the seal. More than a 10 minute 2 person job!

    Any reason to NOT install the rubber stops on the deflector itself instead of the hood?

    You should've stuck those bumpers on the shield itself and not on the hoods paint. 😢
