San Francisco is awesome! Surprised you didn’t visit Chinatown. Great place to visit and I’m looking forward to going back. I’m from the Los Angeles San Gabriel Valley area. Fisherman’s Wharf was very cool. Love the architecture and history.
So nice to see all those sights of a city that has a lot of similarities with Lisbon, my hometown, like the hills, the old tram and Golden Gate Bridge. I'm really excited that TAP Air Portugal is gonna fly direct from Lisbon to San Francisconext year. I have to go!!
I live way too close to SF to not go there more often. I haven't been to Angel Island in years and didn't even know about the Museum of Ice Cream! Once again, great video inspiring me to check out some cool places.
Thanks for the comment, I wish I got to the city more often as well but being in So Cal I only get up there a few times a year. Glad you found a couple new spots to check out.
@California Through My Lens ... since you appear to like ice cream, taquerias and other great unique place to eat ... the next time you make it up to The City ... try the Ice Cream Bar in Cole Valley, Pancho Villa’s just up from the 16th Street BART station ... and take an Uber to The Old Clam House on Bayshore! I’ve been to these places scores of times!!
Loved that Museum of Ice Cream! That looks awesome. Didn’t realize that there was a gingerbread house inside the hotel. Would have definitely gone in there. I’d pick anything blueberry if I got ice cream. We used to go to Grace Cathedral’s organ and brass concert every year. It was a favorite of mine. I don’t think that they are doing it anymore though. Miss it for the holidays. Looks like the weather was very rainy when you were there. Have not been to Angel Island. Always wanted to do that and bring our tandem bike with us so that we could use it to get around. That was a quick trip to Angel Island. Boudin is my favorite sour dough bread. Sure miss that in the south. :’(.
Thanks for the great comment and for watching the video. Blueberry is a good call, I love that as well. The organ concert sounds like it would be really cool, I haven't been to anything like that before but would love to go. Also, a tandem bike would be great to ride on Angel Island, I am not sure how Amie and I would do on one of those though haha.
@@californiathroughmylens love you channel! Hope it goes viral! Always good to see real stuff to see and expierince in the world. I've gotten so many "to do's" from your adventures!!
Next time for ice cream go to Mitchell’s on San Jose in the Mission! True local spot! And best Taquería El Farolito on Mission and onondaga st! That’s where the locals go! Just catch our best Muni line the 14 mission! If you want the best sandwiches in San Francisco go to Roxie’s San Jose and San Juan! Our family tradition Roxie’s then Mitchell’s!
Well done sir, well done! I'm surprised you guys didn't visit the Musee' Mecanique while at Fisherman's Wharf. Amazing place loaded with old time mechanical arcade games and artifacts. It also has a bunch of vintage classic video games. There's an original "Asteroids" that looks brand new! It's just a short walk from the Boudin bakery. Also, doesn't your arm get tired from holding your camera straight out like that? 😉
You have really great informative content! My boyfriend and I are going to San Francisco for the first time on December 24 - 28. I’m from Vancouver Canada and I’m wonder what’s the average temperature during that time of the year? Would a light fall jacket be enough? Thanks again for the great video~!
Thanks for watching and for the feedback! Yea, it is usually around 50 degrees during the day and can be in the 40s at night. I always have a decent jacket on me just because it can get cold when the fog rolls in. Have fun!
nice vid, you've given me a few ideas if i ever get over there, especially angel island, one question about that, is there accommodation on the island or is it strictly a day trip?
Wouldn't anything about Santa be a "polar"-izing event? My favorite line in the video: "While Amy is at yoga, I'm going to look for donuts." I know which person I'd be traveling with that day!
We are thinking of a San Fran trip but all I see and read is how the city is overrun with homeless people and not very safe - now is this an overblown media/news thing or is it just a certain area or areas. The city seems fine in the videos I have seen on this channel.
Same how media portrays Chicago as a giant ghetto but in reality it’s the neighborhoods you pass by(South Side and West Side). Same with SF, it decent just research which neighborhood to walk or avoid.
I know it’s been a year but if you haven’t yet visited, I wouldn’t let your concerns stop you from coming once restrictions are lifted. There are 36 officially recognized neighborhoods in SF. I’d say ~7 are rough. There are homeless people in other neighborhoods too and while sometimes weird they’re mostly not a danger to anyone. Car break-ins are a thing, but just don’t leave valuables out, or skip the car altogether. SF is still one of the most walkable, architecturally varied, diverse cities in the country with tons of sights to see and things to eat. Calling it overrun is an overstatement :) Just look up what neighborhoods are shady, bring a jacket and good walking shoes, and you’ll be fine!
I am bing watching your videos. Love it!

You two do such a great job with tips for exploring the city as well as the best places to get food and ice cream!!!
I'm always looking for new things to do in SF. These are great.
New Food, Exploring, Learning all my favorite leisure activities. Thank you
Yes!! Emphasis on the food :)
My favourite is the ice cream museum 😂
Angle Isle is on my bucket list. I love Alcatraz, GREAT EXPERIENCE.
You would love it, it's such a fun island to explore

In a few days I'll come to San Francisco and LA! Thanks for given me ideas, I love your videos! Lots of loves from Barcelona

Museum of icecream SUCKS, it's not at all what you would think it was.....its a selfie place....for teenagers to take selfies....LITERALLY.

Yes. At literally anytime of the year. We're always around 60-40...always, even in July!
Nice editing. I didn't see one syringe or turd. How did you survive the Santa suit? Were you beaten?
Great video 👍 would be cool to see you funded by pbs someday
I agree!
nice vid, you've given me a few ideas if i ever get over there, especially angel island, one question about that, is there accommodation on the island or is it strictly a day trip?
You can camp there but there are not any other accomidations
Day trip only, unless you wanna camp. It's an expensive ferry ride...or a crafty kayak expedition to get there.
@@californiathroughmylens ...do they have bikes for rent in the island?
anyone notice strictly dumpling's video playing on the t.v. at 0:37
U should of tried international smoke! Their food Is delicious!🍴
Is the Museum of Ice Cream free for the public or do you need tickets?
Nevermind just noticed the small prints with cost prices

You need to stop watching FauxNews and russian troll-made YT videos.
Stay out the bad parts. Lots of good areas to enjoy that dont suffer the problems of the bad areas.

acslater017 thanks! :)
Mr and Mrs. Ice Cream
I'll take it! :)
Seals??? Aren’t those sea lions? 😂
0riginallegend it’s the same thing..
@Orlando Nunez ... sorry, that is incorrect. They are both “pinnipeds” ... but different species. See: oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/seal-sealion.html
Why?
Homeless poop and used syringes......EVERYWHERE.....I grew up in the area and never seen it this bad.....germaphobes be warned.
Why can’t you guys just ever eat like a salad or something¿?
LOL life's too short for salad :)
Agreed! haha
Sf has tons of gays and they mad if u dont like them
yeah, i just keep away and ignore them. why they even come here is the big question, there's nothing for them here.
