Congrats, you have the most reliable, but slowest Fusion model. As stated, the 2.5 is exactly the same and in the same orientation as swapped into the Mazda. You can turbo a Ford Fusion no problem, but you will probably have to fabricate your piping and manifolds as there isn't much of anything aftermarket to choose from off the shelf. The 2.5 is a slug in Fusion due to it's weight. In a Mazda 3 it's decently quick.

Everything from the 2.5 is used from head to bottom end for the swap. You have to install a 2.3 timing cover, crank pulley, use your Mazda harness and a few other odds and ends. 2.5 head flows more than a 2.3, no idea why you would get just the block, unless you are changing out the bottom end on a MS3. If you are doing the swap, no reason to take apart the engine. You can get the entire longblock for a few hundred dollars and just drop it in after prep.
